Right now, it looks like this:
![]() If anything, that only brings extra attention to my eyes of the person and posts I'm trying to ignore - like it's taunting to me to click "View post" almost. ![]() Also, it isn't a two-way system, so he/she can still see anything I'm posting. Can this be fixed as well? Can it be configured in such a way that his/her and my posts don't show up at all when scrolling through a thread, like they don't exist at all? Edit: His/her responses still show up in the "Most recent forum activity" bar too, which is another thing I'd like to avoid. Thanks. Last edited by DaBargainHunta; 07-16-2020 at 09:36 PM. |

Another suggestion: do not show posts from an ignored user when quoted.
It's annoying when I put some douchebag in the ignore list only to keep seeing their posts anyway whenever they're quoted by another user. |

One forum I used to frequent actually did just that they somehow made it you wouldn't see anything from someone you ignore quoted or not. That would make this forum so much better.

It doesn't work like that and nor should it. If you want to ignore a users posts because they annoy you / don't like them etc. that's your right, but that does not mean you should have the right to dictate what posts other members are allowed to see. ALL public threads / posts are there for ALL to read freely - including people you don't like. |

I am asking if it is technically possible on this site. If it is, it would be up the mods/techs whether it's worth implementing. They might think so, they might not - but that's their call, not yours. And yes, I have every right to want to block trolls and harassers from seeing my posts! Again, whether such functionality is implemented would be up to the mods/techs - not you, not me - but don't tell me what I have the right to ask for! But considering that there are already members-only boards on Blu-ray.com, your argument about all posts being available for all to read freely isn't even practiced here. Therefore, there is nothing within the scope of my request that would be considered unacceptable to ask for. |

Something I've thought about for some time, but moreso recently (there being something in place where as well as the already in place Ignore function/list, there also being the option to not see posts where someone not on your Ignore list has quoted someone who is on that list).

On newer versions of vBulletin when you put someone on your ignore list, they don't show up at all, so it's very much possible to improve it. On a different forum I use that's on a more recent version of vBulletin, The Fandom Post, there are two users I put on my ignore list years ago, and after doing so, none of their posts are visible, there is no way to view them when you're logged in, though I don't know how it works if their post is quoted.

This thread is five years old and was ignored at the time by anyone who can actually address the issue - like most threads posted in this section, unfortunately - so I'm not expecting anything to happen.
While I'm here, I'd love a solution for quoted images, but I'm not holding my breath on that either. I do suspect, but have no way of knowing for sure, that the age of this forum's software prevents a lot of fixes that might otherwise be easier or automatic to implement. |

The forum is running on vBulletin 3.8.4 from 2009, I am really surprised that any company would host software that old. |

I would like to render my thread invisible to a duo who keep gaslighting.
They threadcrap all the time. They snipe, insult, ridicule and provoke in violation of the rules. Sometimes I click the "report" button but nothing ever happens. The mods are fine with it. |

People can actually be banned from specific threads, which I didn't know was a thing until it happened to someone in the old DMI thread.
Without knowing who you're referring to or the specific issue, I obviously don't have an opinion, but my general advice would be to PM a mod and ask if this is possible. |

How to word this without being aggressive and by remaining calm. I observe things on here, and I don't normally comment publicly on here about them, where no action is being taken, as if the troublemakers and trolls are being allowed to take things as far as possible with targeting and harassing members. Certain members (a vocal minority) spreading negativity and misery on here while the genuine, good members are either leaving here for good, taking a break or are staying on here trying to switch off from and ignore these problems (the troublemakers and trolls are allowed to carry on what they're doing).
I have observed one member in particular arguing over words and the use of language, like they are a master of the word, tying people up in knots verbally. Two examples: the artwork for the Dan Curtis titles being released by Kino Lorber and, instead of celebrating the recent birthday of an actress, zone instead on the wording of a post and the use of language, when I have seen other times me and many, many people on here word things the same and no one has criticised what has been said on those occasions. I have this member on Ignore, but stupidly, because they quoted me I looked at their post and it has been an unhelpful distraction. I didn't deserve the response I got, but again, they're an example of a minority who are constantly getting away with their behaviour which has been going on on here for a long time. There are members like myself who just want harmony on here, trying to have a good atmosphere where we don't go lurking the forum looking for something to criticise, nitpick etc. The thread spamming is another unresolved issue on here, but that's separate from what I have described above.
