not to sure about the up top stuff but as for the tv it looks pretty good but dont forget in the world of hi-definition you get what you pay for so at 600$ for a 40'' tv you might wanna be cautious and as for the remote you can change it i would suggest a low end logitech harmony(universal remote)

pretty good price for a 1080p LCD at that size...... I have never had good luck with RCA as a company though.....

I also haven't put any time into looking at displays recently, so I don't know what is out there that is "comparable"

EDIT:

I also recall seeing that you were 14....... For that price, you could get a 720p projector, and display a 100 or 120" screen if you can make it work with your room..... not many young lads your age can play video games on a 120" screen

I know I still have time to look because my old JVC is well old(and with DTV it won't work ).Also I am still saving up I guess ill go with either a Samsung or Sony.

P.S. I seldom play video games only the occasional wii fit or boot up the PS3 and watch a Blu-ray.
and I don't think a 120" would fit.... on the other hand I could remove the ceiling and make it work!
XD.
Korray

EDIT:

I don't think mom and dad would be "cool" with removing my ceiling..............
....Would you mind me blaming the idea on you XD

It doesn't have to be 120", i'm using a projector ar around 85" in my beedroom (albiet I havn't lived with my parent in many years so even if they thouhgt it was silly it wouldn't matter).

I strongly suggest the projector, you shant regret it.

I'll got through some of the stats you posted in the OP.
Refresh Rate . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 60 Hz (is that good)
This is fine for gaming and due to the 3:2 pulldown mode is quite good for movies (which are usually shot at 23.96 frames per second). More on this below.
Reverse 3:2 Pull Down (Film Mode). . . . Yes
Basically it means it shows as intende at the theatres (with the correct frame rate, its more complicated then this but a quick search will find you a lot of information alot more detailed then I can provide.

Display Aspect Ratio . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 16x9 (is that what you see?)
This is the Aspect Ratio, quite simply for ever 16cm wide it'll be 9cm tall. All PS3 games are 16:9, however must films are wider (2:35:1) and therfore most movies will have black bars on the top and bottom.

Panel Contrast Ratio . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5000:1 (What in the world?)
Ignore this, just note contrast ratio refers to how many times the lighest color is to the darkest color. Contrast numbers are very misleading though and are as representative to the image in life is, as porn is to love.

Viewing Angle Horizontal/Vertical . . . . 176/176
Fairly obvious the recommend maximum angles recommended to view at.

Video Processing - Marketing . . . . . . . . . EN-V
Not shure, generally video processing is best left off when included on a tv imo.

Bit Depth . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10 bit
Has to do with the number of colours available, 10 bit is fine, though 12 bit is better etc...

Adjustable Color Temperature . . . . . . . . Yes
Worry about this later, just make sure its there dor calibrating at a later date.

Dynamic Contrast Ratio . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 25000:1
See above.

Comb Filter . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3D Y/C
Dunno

I don't play any video games either..... I was just making a rash generalization loosely veiled in a Stereotypical falsehood based on your age.....

Either way.... sorry about that.

Either way.... For a bedroom, a 40" T.V. would be pretty big (Heck, other than the projector, I only have a 37 and 32" because we don't want anything "Too Big" )

Either way, I know it's personal preference at this point, but perhaps look around the Plasma, and LCD section here, and find what else is out there for $600 or so....

I really just don't care for RCA

Yeah people are telling me to look at Plasmas but i'm worried because people said bulbs blow out often and are pricey to replace is that true?

Never known anyone to have a plasma go bad because of the bulb/lights......

I think if you leave it on 24 hours a day, it'll last 5 or 6 years or something crazy..... so with average use, it'll last basically forever

Same thing with any display really...... If you leave it on all the time, the only ones that would be worse than LCD or Plasma or CRT, would be Front and Rear projection..... those have a shorter bulb life....

I don't think the fact that you leave it on should be a part of your decision between LCD and Plasma......
