I decided to start this thread as I've seen a significant increase in forum members becoming involved in the world of vinyl playback. Many of our members have some really wonderful gear and they are oftentimes posted within their own galleries or within their own threads. I had my own posted for some time, but I am currently without a turntable, so I took them down.
The reason for this thread is to post pictures of your Turntable, power supply, phono stage, cabling, cartridges, tonearms, record cleaning devices, etc. Anything related to turntables. Tell a story about how you got into vinyl and what you love about it. Ask questions and make recommendations. Here is a pic of my dead (sadly) Revolver TT. I bought it back in 1985 or so and paid about $800 plus another $275 for a Grado 8mz cartridge.
I have always maintained it very well by getting it regularly services and aligned, changing the belts and adding new cartridges. The last of which was a Grado Reference Platinum (about $400 CDN..can't exactly remember). IMG_0004-1.jpg Hopefully soon I'll be able to report back on a new turntable. I sure do miss it! This is the first time since 1968 that I have been without a turntable. John |

My last turntable rig. All has been sold. SACD and lossless music via my server has been keeping me busy. However, it was sold because I am in the process of building a separate 2 channel room with a main focus on vinyl. Everything in steps though.

Hi Steve,
Yes, when Chris Brady and I were testing the system we listened to several Hot Stampers as we tried to make the adjustments to the system. Now that things have been fine tuned and adjusted, I must go back and listen to many of these again including Moody Blues Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. But, Chris and I used the Hot Stamper copy of Peter Gabriel's Security LP as the single most important listening disk particularly after we swapped the "Mystery Feet" for the Still Points under the Teres Audio Control Box. This is an absolutely stunning and incredible pressing. The sound was absolutely amazing and extremely well cleaned. The vinyl was generally extremely quiet on this turntable, but on the higher end turntables the surface noise does tend to be quieter; one of the benefits of the better machines. Chris now wants an extremely fine copy of this LP as a demo disk. Anyway the sound of the Peter Gabriel LP was absolutely astonishing with tremendous depth, air, very sweet sound, very delicate and at the same time very powerful, extremely black background, bell like sound, top to bottom sound, life like, outstanding imaging and soundstage, and extremely well controlled and deep bass (though the DQ-10 cabinets probably will not play much below about 35 Hz), amazing percussion, and shimmering cymbals and triangle. I would think that many would think that $250 was crazy for the pressing, but it lived up to its description. Rich Last edited by naturephoto1; 04-29-2009 at 02:18 PM. |

Believe it or not, some actually run up to $750 for a really rare and really good pressing.
