Are you able to log into the modem to manage it?

What you stated in your initial post would be something I would do, but my concern is the IP address for the Player. The IP address will change more often than the Subnet Mask, Default gateway, and DNS information. Those numbers are constant under normal circumstances.

I would suggest manually entering the Subnet mask, Default gateway, and DNS numbers, but change the fourth Octet of the IP Address with a range between 2 and 255, depending on the routers Default gateway.
