I still haven't watched my BD of Child's Play from Shout, because I had just watched it right before I bought it. But I might get the sequels. Heck, I'll probably end up getting the first.

I'm aware that the Paramount pickings are getting fairly slim now (though there's still some left), but there's still a lot of Warner Bros titles unreleased on Blu. Early this year I asked Cliff if more were coming, and he said 'maybe...', which obviously means yes. However, so far this year we've only seen Femme Fatale in terms of WB titles. I can't help but think this may be tied to the same issues which have restricted the number of Warner Archive releases so far this year. Since WA are planning on ramping up releases in the second half of the year, hopefully this will mean we also see more WB titles from SF.

It's finally happening. Hopefully Bride and Seed come out next month so I can complete the set.

Really odd packaging, ususally the 4K reissues have original poster art, and the new to CE 4K's use brand new art. Complete opposite here. I never liked the poster art for CP3.

Edit: Went for the slipcovers and posters bundle. The figure looks nice but I don't need it, and I sure don't want to pay that much extra for pins. Really digging the new art for the sequels.

Duke, I just had to say that I really liked your answer on this thread. Definitely made me feel better about getting and enjoying all of the 4k upgrades this year. I only ended up getting CEs with slipcovers in the past so seeing the variety on the artwork and slipcover selection alone has made me more at ease with a non-conforming collection this round. I'm just grateful a company is still releasing classic horror films on 4k with Dolby Atmos tracks.

That is strange. It can’t be a royalty issue if they’re doing the poster with it.

So annoying! I would have even paid extra money just to get it. Why offer it for the sequels but not the most important one?

Nothing about how the art is handled makes sense, but it means little to me. Just show me those bonus features.

I like that the slip/poster bundle doesn't cost a cent more than buying the individual copies with only one poster each.

They could have included it in the bundle like with the other two slips. I wonder what they're reasoning for keeping the new-art slips as bundle only.

i think the only reason they're going with commission art instead is because of how much Chucky is featured in it as compared to the original poster, which is pretty bare in comparison. I would say most people out there (i.e. not the purists crowd on here) would be drawn more to the commissioned art than the original if they saw it on shelves at a store, or browsing Amazon.

I wondered that myself. Mad Max and Candyman were in standard retail stores and I can see that being the case for this one, especially around Halloween season. I feel like they are pretty transparent so maybe the coverart is a question with an easy answer to them.
