Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

Having caved on Tremors and now the Child's Play sequels, do we think Universal will ever relax their stance on the Jaws sequels? Or is this stance tied to Steven Spielberg and therefore out of their hands? I'm just speculating here, since I read somewhere it was him preventing the release of a box set containing all the Jaws films, hence why the first is never bundled with the rest. Don't know how accurate this is.

I can see them doing another bundle in the future with Bride/Seed, pin set related to those films, and a oven-baked Tiffany figure from Bride. I don't really need the DTV sequels on 4K. Would be cool if they could somehow get the 2019 reboot though.

For Child’s Play 3 release I hope the awful commentary from the German release isn’t included. The producer barely talks and is silent throughout most of the film.

I'm really happy to finally see Child's Play 2/3 get the respect they deserve in proper collector's editions. There is SOOOO much content available for CP2 that it should make for a stacked release. I really, REALLY hope that Shout Factory is able to locate the original film materials of the TV cut and can put out a proper HD tv cut and not just a version with inserts. I don't need it in 4k (though that would be amazing) but getting it in a proper aspect ratio and in HD would be a fans dream come true.

I pre-ordered parts 2 and 3 immediately upon seeing the announcement on Amazon this morning but am debating just picking up the poster + slips bundle from Shout directly. I know I want the original film as well in 4k but the need to own it immediately is much lower. I'm expecting the Amazon prices to drop to $29.99 each by release day and have no idea what I'd do with the extra slips. (I still have my original alternate Return of the Living Dead Slip still in the original Shout Factory shipping box) and the fact I could use Amazon GC's really helps a lot. I had however been wanting to pick up a poster of CP2 anyways and having the other 2 posters wouldn't be bad either. I'm also slightly expecting Target to have a B2G1 sale between now and release date and if that happens and the old pre-order bug works then that would be all 3 films for potentially around $84 shipped.... hmmm.. Decisions, Decisions.

CP2 and 3 are only listed as 2-discs. That could change, but I'm not expecting the TV cuts in HD, but I do hope they'll include them in some form.

So the Shout Select movies (Leaning to Drive, A Walk in the Woods, & Last Days in the Desert), were all distributed by Broad Green, A Walk in the Woods even had a blu release from them. Does this mean Shout has Brod Green's catalogue? I hope it does and that they give Mia Hansen-Løve's Eden a blu!

Really liking the newly commissioned art for 2 & 3. Definitely ordering the bundle for those posters.

Looks like it. Maybe Malick's Voyage of Time will finally get a US release (even better if it's a 4K).

Not really excited about any of those new announcements honestly as I already have all the Child’s Play films. I’ll wait I until they list the special features for 2 & 3 before deciding on them since thats what would make me pick them up.

I pre-ordered the Child's Play 1-3 set and also threw in Ninth Configuration. Child's Play is by far my favorite horror series so I'm so glad they are getting UHD releases. Hoping Bride and Seed are coming soon.
