Oh logical , so now there is a descendent of Khan no one had ever heard of that has seen the Gorn and knows how they communicate , what they look like and how they feed their young but it doesn't violate the cannon of the original series .
Got ya , you all are the smartest ever !

Clearly you hate SNW so I'm sure you'll stop watching and leave this thread right?

Go and be superior to us idiots. Laugh at us from afar as we enjoy our Trek.

You know nothing at all. You're a joke that watches ZSJL 12 times in ****ing 7 days but thinks he can lecture other people on what they should enjoy.

I'm old enough that I actually saw The Motion Picture in theaters. I waited in line to see Wrath of Khan.

But notice it didn't answer the question! Will it now leave the thread and not return??

Called out as wrong but ignores it and jumps to something completely inconsequential.

I have 2509 UHD/HD/3D Blu-rays - I stopped updating my collection here because it was kind of pointless. I use Collectorz software for my collection. So going by a user's collection is ridiculous and further indication of your troll behavior.

No arguments from me. I was actually disappointed that we didn't get a look at them in the show. I was curious how they would be depicted. Great show otherwise.

I did a rewatch last night with a friend who doesnt have internet (yes they exist) and I was surprised at some of the details I had missed the first time.

The pattern on everyone's duty tunics matches their service symbol, except for medical where they do the crosses.

On Dr MBenga's desk in sickbay, he has the old style push button intercom speaker.

I still haven't figured out how they are doing their ranks yet. Seems like once you go below from Captain, everyone is a step down from what I would think they are.

I like that Spork still has the ViewMaster thing at his science station.

Well in TOS it was so he could say "I see this, I see this, I see this..." and not actually have to show it. A tech & budget saver for sure. Hopefully they won't have him looking into it and reporting too often now.

Nah. That was a highly advanced display device that allowed Spock to hold entire lectures after looking into it for just a few seconds. It had the shroud because the information density would have easily overwhelmed the brains of normal people looking at it.

I think it's a great nod to the original series. They didn't have to include it.

Considering that it's supposed to be the same ship it should have it! Same for the handhold thingies in the turbolifts, and it's so cool that the sound of the transporter still has a trace of that MUCH freakier sound effect from the TOS pilot. I like that the buttons on their consoles are brightly coloured plastic studs too, very old-school. I actually watched Arena right after this episode of SNW and even though it should bump so badly because of the vast difference in style and budget, it still feels like I'm looking at the same ship.

I've said before that I rationalise it by imagining that Kirk's Enterprise always looked like this more modern iteration except they didn't have the money to realise it on-screen at the time - but that rationale falls apart whenever the look of TOS is explicitly reference in-universe like in TNG's Relics or ENT's mirror universe two-parter. Bah, don't care

Nah, you could say First Officer Spock had it installed to keep people from looking at the porn he was actually watching.

Oh it's easy to rationalise, it got one of many refits before Kirk took over, and the 1960s retro-look was just back in fashion at the time.

I like it! I remember that the ENT Romulan War books (which are rather good IMO) retconned it in that exact way, that because of the Romulan hacking of ship networks during the war later ships had a much more “analogue” appearance.
