The Fog 4k seems pretty low key for an Oct release. And is just another US re-release of a StudioCanal released years ago, that I and others bought years ago.
If they do Army, would it be 3 4ks? That would be pricey.

I think Halloween 6-8 (and possibly RZ's HI and HII) on 4K UHD will be announced for a September release, with Shout giving themselves an extra month's buffer if there's any unforeseen production delays which would necessitate bumping them to an October release.

How realistic are the rest of the Halloween sequels being released again by Shout for new 4Ks? That set was a collaboration between multiple studios and seemed like it was a minor miracle it happened at all (at least to me it did). BTW, is anyone really clamoring for Halloween Resurrection on UHD? Personally, I enjoyed the film for what it is but most people seem to hate it.

Pretty sure one of their guys confirmed they were coming on one of their podcast appearances a long ways back, didnt they? I thought the reason they were split up was more because of the expense of doing the whole series for 4k rather than license issues.

The only Halloween sequel I want now in 4k is H20. I’m indifferent to Curse and will always boycott the abomination that is Resurrection

To the best of my knowledge Scream Factory has never once given even the smallest hint that 6-8 were coming to 4k. Everyone here and elsewhere immediately assumed that they were and that the reason they were split up last year was due to the cost as you mentioned, but there has never been any sort of evidence to actually support the idea that we are actually getting them. Thus far everything has been pure fan speculation as far as I can recall.

I’m finally getting around to ordering all the Halloween 4Ks from SF. Can anyone confirm that you still get the slipboxes?

EDIT: getting them from Amazon.com and not the SF site.

I doubt anyone can confirm it, but at least with Amazon if you don't it's easy enough to return it.

I just ordered Halloween on Amazon on Sunday and it arrived yesterday with the slipbox. These slipboxes aren't considered the same thing as slipcovers as far as I can tell as Creepshow has never stopped including them. I would imagine that for as long as this is in print, it will always come with one.

On another note, be sure to check the discs immediately for scratches/cracks (or oily thumb prints). There has been a pretty consistent run of bad discs across all 4k releases from Scream Factory as of late from what I've read and my own copy of Halloween arrived with some cross between a scratch and a smudge as well as another blemish. I just checked the disc this morning after having read of the issues last night and thankfully mine worked ok and so I won't be returning it, but others weren't so lucky. Both my 4k disc and disc 1 blu ray had the exact same mark in the same location near the outer edge of the disc which leads me to believe it's being done by the manufacturing equipment in some instances. My copies of Halloween 4/5 were blemish free as I double checked about an hour ago, but Halloween 2 had 2 big thumb prints smeared on the disc. Thankfully those wiped off without issue as well.

Thanks for the heads up! I’m going to the states fairly soon so I wanted to order some in advance to my friend’s house (who I’m visiting). Maybe I’ll wait to order until I get there then so I can check the discs.

EDIT: where’s the best brick and mortar store to find scream factory titles? I’m guessing not many carry boutique stuff, right?

If there's an FYE around your friend they seem to have quite a good section of Scream Factory blurays when I visit. But they're usually overpriced... But you can ensure you get a slip, at least, if that's your thing.

The Child’s Play sequel announcements give me hope that we could finally get the Jaws sequels restored

Haven't they confirmed that they've tried several times to put out a NOES box set, but New Line(or whoever) won't give them the rights?

Someone from Shout said it wasn't happening even though they wanted to, Warner won't give them the rights.

People will keep saying their are rumors though because the narrative is too strong. Even without any evidence or a reliable inside they will assume a Nightmare box-set/ Nightmare 4ks are right around the corner because Shout released:

Halloween boxset
Friday boxset
Halloween 4ks

For a lot of people they immediately jump to Nightmare as something that will happen immediately despite the complete lack of evidence due to such a strong narrative developing for them.

Narrative also drives people into assuming that Shout will put out 4ks for Halloweens 6-10, since they put out the first 5 last year. Despite the fact that Lionsgate, who have never licensed to Shout and don't really license to anyone for that matter own 2 of those movies. But it doesn't matter because the narrative has formed and it informs the beliefs for a lot of people even with a complete lack of evidence.

Depends on where in the States your friend lives, we're kinda big.

If it happens to be New England area, look up the closest Bullmoose, they stock plenty of Scream Factory titles.

Except the Rob Zombie Halloweens were part of the SF Halloween box set.
And they again worked with multiple studios to make the Friday box set happen.
And they've built their entire brand on tentpole franchise releases, of which they're running out of options. The speculation is quite logical. Who knew the Friday box set was coming before it was just announced? Or the Halloween 4ks?

They purchased existing discs for the RZ Halloweens to include in the box sets. They would have to work out a entirely different deal to release them separately as new 4K discs, and there has been nothing to suggest that they can do that at this time. That Halloween box set took a lot of negotiation to make possible.
And until they released Cursed, there was no reason to believe they could get the Miramax Halloween titles from Paramount. It made sense why they only released the first five at first. Now it seems possible for them to get Halloween 6-8, but it still hasn't been confirmed.

And keep in mind, SF still hasn't gotten 4K UHD rights to any of their Paramount titles. I assume that will change, since Kino was able to get 4K rights to some movies.

Lionsgate didn't own those movies back then. The rights have since passed to Lionsgate. The home video rights used to belong to Sony/Weinstein company iirc. Lionsgate got those movies a year or 2 ago.
