Still worth to get in my opinion though

I love this movie! I'm very tempted to import it but I'm trying to hold out for a US release.

I believe you have this movie to thank for Bale eventually getting the Batman Begins role. I'm just sayin'

Found this movie way back at my university Book/Video store. It was an Indi store that had the cool stuff.

Love the flic, waiting for it on blu...

Equilibrium had, has and will have a somewhat problematic destiny. HD-DVD was released by a Toshiba-owned studio, which dissolved into thin air lately, but just before that happened, Sony was able to buy rights to this movie from that studio, valid over Japanese territory only. Besides Japan, worldwide rights to Equilibrium are in they hands of Disney, who seems to be not-too-thrilled about this movie, so, my guesstimate would be that there will not be a better release for this one, at least not in the nearest 3 years.

That's actually cheap for a Japanese import. I've paid $50 for a couple Japanese HiDef imports.

UK disc is the open matte version of this (really awesome, "I wish it had the budget of matrix") super35 film.

Japanese BD called "Rebellion" is the 2.35 theatrical version with a cleaner print but the differences are not that big, especially with the high prices over there, you may want to wait for a US version to compare.

Ok sucks big time no plans for a US blu-ray release of this movie. I'll just get it on DVD and wait for the US blu-ray release. Christian Bale kicks ass in this movie. The fight scenes in the end rival that of the Matrix...

In any Super35 movie effects shots will be rendered at the theatrical AR. That is why the blimp shot was cropped on the sides and the live action stuff was not.

Every close-up becomes a medium shot, and so on. Why did the UK version have to suck so much?

Any idea if this is getting a re-release or a US release? Amazon shows a US version as "discontinued" but I thought it hadn't been released in the US?

Saw this on a rental at a friend's house and loved it.

A region A version is coming to Canada in September, with DTS-MA. The aspect ratio is expected to be the crappier 1.78:1 though.. Not for certain though.
