Morbius had a lot of noise in some scenes, and some looked more like 2K files upconverted, but other scenes had a lot more detail.

Then it must be some upconverted version to match those 4K Barco projectors in your/his venue. Otherwise I don't know. So it's really not interesting since Sony keeps feeding your theater with 4K DCPs on 2K finished movies.

Sony also released some 4K HDR trailers including Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), which I had my doubts on. But in the end the movie received a 2K DCP. Also the DoP told me the movie was 2K finished.

Lionsate uploads their trailers in 1440p for example.

You're right. I didn't see the JP one because it was HD on Universal's channel, but 4k on the official JP channel. So it was the second. And here's the third, the new JP Dominion trailer 2 in 4k:

2K DCP. If it was 4K finished Sony would have created 4K DCPs.

I've seen this movie, twice, on 4K laser systems. The first being IMAX-laser, the colors looked fantastic !

@ Pieter V - do you know how IMAX and specifically their version's of DCP's work, I'd assume when a 4K standard DCP is made for non-IMAX systems, the studios/distributors also create them for IMAX systems, right?

I think this can be considered an official 4k trailer. I don't think the IMAX YouTube channel has released any of their trailers in 4k before. Not even Maverick.

I saw Lightyear via a 4K laser system it looked great, the Atmos mix though was so pedestrian and average (very disappointed)
