When I heard that Lawrence Fishburne was supposed to be Danny Glover I could never watch Predators happily again.

I wasn't too happy with Fishburne as Noland.

I did like the fact that they brought in a serial killer but was hoping that he would live at the end and become a new Noland. It would have been interesting seeing him pick off some of the prey and possibly some of the Predators.

EXT. HUNTING CAMP - MORNING
A newly born sun peeks over the horizon. The long night --
and the terror it brought - are finally over.
The camp. Or rather what’s left of it. Smoldering. Decimated.
Post appocalytic.

The body of the Black Super Predator hangs off the totem, a
spike driven through the side of its head. Poleaxed.
Royce and Isabelle sit at the base of the monument. Bleeding.
Battered. 12 rounds. Still standing.
Nothing is said. Nothing needs to be said.

Silence.

Cut short by--

Ground begins to vibrate, barely perceptible at first.
Growing stronger, rising in intensity and volume.

As if a freight train was coming toward them.
Slowly Royce stands up. Isabelle alongside him.
Ready for whatever comes next.

Dust and ash swirl all around, obscuring vision in all
directions.

Then the cloud settles, revealing--

A PREDATOR SHIP

This isn’t the Enterprise. Ugly. Battered. Functional.
They stare.

A form SHIMMERS into view. A Predator. Another. More. About a
dozen of them.

Royce and Isabelle. No energy to fight. No point to run. They
simply wait.

Predators part like the Red Sea. Their leader -- his armor
different from the rest, covered in trophies from untold
hunts -- approaches.

Surveys up our duo. The devastation. Last but not least, the
slain Black Super Predator.
Slowly he removes his helmet.

The face beneath it belongs to--

DUTCH - The man. The myth. The legend.

DUTCH
Not bad, kid. Not bad at all.

SMASH TO BLACK

THE END

Not sure it makes any sense, but it would have been kinda cool.

I don't worry at all about continuity. I used to, but now I just want decent movies. Like I'd rather have a bunch of interesting filmmakers putting their own spin on the concept even if there are, ahem, discontinuities, than to see a series so bogged down in continuity it can't go anywhere.

The promos for this film make me believe this film will go down as becoming known as the modern day Disney version of Apocalypto with a Predator franchise tag slapped on it for even more cash grabbing, white washed, timeline destroying good times, with a dash of WOKE thrown in for good measure.

Sorry, but I just don't see myself buying into this new dynasty. Sure I'll watch it, but I guess I'm just to loyal to the original Alien, Predator, and Terminator films to sell out to this stuff. Hope they do catch on with a new younger audience though, that can keep some semblance of theatrical releases afloat.

Come on all of you el' cheapo dad's out there, buy your kids a ticket and give them a ride to the show.

That instantly looks better than anything that has come out in the franchise since Predator 2.

It looks like they actually give a damn and are trying something new.

Now they can have the Predators appearing in every era

Predators in feudal Japan vs. samurai
Predators in pre-colonial africa vs. Bantu warriors
Predators in central Asia vs. mongol warriors
Predators in Alaska vs. Inuits
Predators in Australia vs. aboriginees
Predators in Samoa vs. Polynesian warriors
Predators in Peru vs. the Incas
Predators in the Magreb vs. Berbers
Predators in ancient Iraq vs. the Babylonians

The Predator hunting guide will be dumbfounded -- "Another of our hunters got his ass kicked by a primitive human? I not making this damn trip back until they signal me from now on. I'll just assume they got killed. We suck!"

Oops! It's looks like PETA got an injunction on Disney. They will re-release it when they add a disclaimer about "No bears were harmed in the making of this trailer."

Predator 2 canonically outright says that the titular bounty hunters crash landed in the 1700's though...

also good to know that people are still blindly calling things "woke" for no discernible reason!

Good to know that people are still unwittingly saying the opposite of what they mean. Or are they?

Um, I'd unironically watch all of these, wouldn't you? These are some good pitches!

Wasnt there a Pride Prejudice and Predators being considered at some point? Anything is better than what came out after Pred2 (which was awesone)

I do kind of wish they were speaking their native language. Would give it a unique authentic feel, but as is, it looks pretty solid.

Agreed about the language, would have given it that extra authenticity but I guess at this point the franchise simply needs a win and alienating the lazy people who can't be arsed to read subtitles just reduces the box office even more. Looks good imo but I gave up trying to read a films quality based on its trailer a long time ago.

Wow. Solid trailer. I'll definitely be streaming it upon release, and if it's good fun, I'll be hoping for a 4K release, to pair with the 4-movie collection.

Your best bet would likely be to get a, let's just say, unofficial copy of the film since Disney will likely never release it's Hulu movies made under the 20th Century banner on physical media (not counting Summer of Soul; this includes Vacation Friends, Fresh, and Fire Island)

This actually looks pretty great. Thought it would be just another cheap, bland cash-in on name value kind of movie, but it looks like Trachtenberg really put the effort in. Though it definitely would have been better subtitled. Will definitely be checking this out.
