Personally, I'd be happier with The Fog and Army of Darkness than I would be with Halloween 6-8. I'm pretty sure Scream themselves have denied a NOES box.

They have, yet people continue to carry on with their fantasy. If they end releasing them down the line, good for them. However, at least now, it ain't happening.

Rob Zombie’s Halloween II did revert to Lionsgate from Sony (and they released a barebones DVD of the theatrical cut last year), but the first Rob Zombie Halloween is actually with Cinedigm, who inherited the rights from Genius Products. I believe Cinedigm actually has a minority stake in Shout Factory, so maybe something can be worked out that way, but I don’t know when or if their rights expire.

I am really curious what they have in store for us with their September/October slate. I wouldn't be surprised if we get Halloween 6-8 4Ks. I would love to get the theatrical cuts of the Zombie Halloween films, but doesn't seem like it's possible for the second since it's with Lionsgate.

Hope we get a Sam Raimi group of titles. A Simple Plan, The Gift, and Army of Darkness.

I’m hoping for October they surprise us with some unexpected, new (& not more re-releases) titles. As for theatrical Rob Zombie Halloween films I just picked up the Canadian double feature to go along with my deluxe box set.

I don’t love every Nightmare film (I really hate Freddy’s Dead) but I’d buy a box set that’s like the Halloween & Friday ones in a heartbeat.

American Gothic is one of the weirdest, most unsettling viewing experiences I've had in a while. Think the Sawyer clan from Texas Chainsaw Massacre weird, but then add in a healthy dose of the 1973 film "The Baby" and a pinch of sexual perversion the likes of which is rarely seen/implied in a big studio film courtesy of one off screen sequence late in the film and you end up with a pretty surprisingly weird/dark Scream Factory release. For folks that have watched Incident in a Ghostland, there are moments here that almost have a similar kind of twisted vibe and very much feel like they could have been inspiration for that film.

I picked this up almost 1 year ago to the day but only tonight finally got around to watching the disc for the first time. The film starts off like so many other backwoods slashers like Just Before Dawn and The Forest, but then morphs into this really bizarre off-kilter effort that has a similar vibe to Motel Hell or the People Under the Stairs, but without the intentional humor.

I'm honestly shocked that this film hasn't been talked about more. Maybe I've just missed the discussion but this is such a weirdly dark and at times perverse release that I feel like it's just flown under folks' radar.

This was a surprisingly engaging watch and one I'd recommend folks check out for sure. I haven't been this surprised by a Scream Factory release in a long time.... and for those looking to pair it with another film to make a double feature, might I recommend Night Visitor. I won't say why, but there is a goofy connection between the two films by way of one of the cast members which I will refrain from mentioning so as not to spoil things.

Fire in the Sky i can't wait and should look better than my old DVD.

And can't wait for Species 4K and Child's Play trilogy 4k as those should look stunning in their new restorations. And ABOUT TIME Child's Play 2 and 3 are in CE BDs/4K AT LAST! after years of waiting.

I really like this one, as well. I think it’s a real sleeper in the Scream Factory catalog. The movie surprised me more than once, going into directions I wasn’t expecting. The director was John Hough, who also helmed The Legend of Hell House and Twins of Evil.

One of the roles was played by William Hootkins, a character actor best known as Porkins in Star Wars, one of the government agents in Raiders of the Lost Ark (“top men!”), and Ekhart in Batman. I didn’t recognize him at all in American Gothic. It wasn’t until I read the end credits that I realized who it was.

I agree with your thoughts on "American Gothic". Rod Steiger adds an unsettling intensity to the role that elevates the film tremendously. Similar to his turn in "Wolf Lake" (another solid, overlooked 80s genre film), very few actors can ratchet up the intensity and go as dark as quickly as Steiger, and he really gives "American Gothic" a sense of menace along with other elements you mentioned.

Same. I only like NOES 1-3. Part 4 is decent IMO. I would buy a NOES box set..... as it would look great on the shelf next to the Halloween and Friday ones.

If anyone is looking for a copy of "Carrie" Scream Factory must have found some copies because it no longer has the "Not Available", and you can order directly from them, I found it while looking through the "All Products" on their website, it's still OOP on Amazon

Is Child's Play the first MGM title SF let go out of print on BD only to reissue themselves as a 4K? Wondering if that will happen with Carrie.

To me that sounds like they regained the license and likely have a 4k release in the works.

I was just thinking the same thing. A 4k release must be coming out eventually.
