Gettysburg - CRITERION NEEDED - Blu-ray Forum

This is one of the best War movies of all time. Has anyone else seen it? Does anyone else share my desire to have it released by CRITERION on Blu-Ray?

I think it's an awesome film as well,I'd be happy if Warner Bros. released it! The subpar sequel "Gods and Generals is on Blu but not Gettysburg,strange!

I agree. I popped the DVD in and looked at it on the projector - thinking that I really needed it on BRD.

I love this movie - the four plus hours pass like nothing. I still have the $89.95 Laserdisc (and remember having to flip through THREE DISCS!!)

Yep, I had the Laserdisc as well, still do. Wish I had a player too still play them

Unfortunately, I have two NON working Laserdisc players. Both are jammed. I am thinking about biting the bullet and getting a cheepie LD player off of Ebay just to have one to watch the Lasers.

I never understood that either. Gettysburg is far superior to G & G, just as "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is superior to "The Meaning of Life", yet the inferior movies get blu treatment.
