Preordered when this was first announced, then had to cancel a week ago because I was low on funds. Got my final paycheck for the summer yesterday and....sold out everywhere. Had to get it off ebay and pay an extra $15 and no digital code. Pissed.

Bestbuy.com is showing in stock for shipping or local pick-up, at least for me. Did it just come back into stock or something? I went ahead and ordered one for local pickup, and I had a $5 rewards cert, so I got it for $28. Not bad! I've been out of the loop on releases lately, glad I didn't miss this one entirely!

Maybe the store you're picking up from hadn't sold out of their inventory. Just a wild guess.

That's what I would have thought, but it's showing as available for shipping or for local pickup. I was going to have it shipped because I wasn't sure if I'd have time to run by the store this week, but opted for local pick up after all.

I just checked the B.B. website and the steel book is still available for shipping and $3.99 shipping cost.

Seems like a lot of stores in the SF Bay Area have it in stock for pickup. Up here visiting from LA.

I tried BB last night and it was only available for local pickup. And we don't have one in this town.

I missed getting it at target as part of the sale. I was hoping it would come back in stock. I just ordered it from best buy (Available for pickup or order) as a backup.

Can anybody confirm that this best buy restock is 4 disc version? I asked on BB chat hour ago, and first they said it was 1 disc, but then checked again and told me that it's 2 disc. So i just want to be sure.

Afaik, in the US, there is only the 4-disc version.

Probably lots on this thread about quality…probably going back to the Classics release, which I sadly missed. This movie presents the single best image I have ever seen on a home screen, maybe anywhere. Don’t care about swag but so glad to own the steel book, well worth the wait.

MArketplace seller mislisting some item. There is no such 2 disc US official release

Received mine yesterday (one item showed up on BB.ca last week-end). Like someone already said, it's really nice in person. And the 4 discs aren't stacked. Can't wait to watch the movie!

Thats a third party seller, and i wouldnt trust that listing for a second. I dont think they have a clue.

Really feel bad that this already went OOP and now are fetching for crazy prices by scalpers. Hoping an individual standard edition isn't too far behind for those who missed this steelbook, even though this (and the bridge on the river kwai) is one of the lesser attractive steelbooks in my library. I love the color palette far more than River Kwai, but I don't really like the artist's drawing style. Looks a bit too muddled and it's one I wouldn't recommend people pay for the high prices that scalpers may put it at.

Nonetheless, really hoping a standard edition will come out in the near future so those who missed the steelbook doesn't have to be restricted with another time limiting release (Different company but Lionsgate has done this with Dirty Dancing, Angel Heart, and Ran as well. None of these titles have a 4K standard edition out yet and hopefully it won't stay as the only 4K release forever).

Just finished disc 1 and intermission just in time to walk the dog .
Before I start disc 2 thought I would say much like the remastered BD this looks so much better than expected , top notch PQ & Audio .
