Wow this one really is going for high prices. The only segment I liked was the Donald Pleasence vampire segment. Maybe it's time to sell

I have the Uk release of this one. I may be wrong, but it seems like I did some research one time and found that the two Price-Del Valle interviews on this disc are on some combination of the Arrow releases of VP films and the Shout Factory VP releases, but I cannot remember which ones.

I was randomly browsing SAE this morning and...

The Monster Club is in stock for $19.95.

It didn't take me long to place an order, because I thought The Monster Club was OOP and it's one of the few Vincent Price Blu Rays I didn't think I'd get my hands on. Ordered with the following:

THE DEVIL'S WEDDING NIGHT (1973)
LEGACY OF SATAN / BLOOD (1974 / LIMITED EDTION)
WEEKEND MURDERS (1972)
THE PEOPLE WHO OWN THE DARK (1975)
GIRLY (1969)
THE MONSTER CLUB (1981)

Diabolik has it as a new arrival, too.

Awesome. I hope everyone that wants a copy gets one.

Next man up: The scorpion re-releases Tower of Evil and The Unseen. Anyone have an ETA on when they're hitting the street?

Thanks for the heads up on The Monster Club, been wanting to pick that up for awhile. Went with Diabolik along with a couple Garagehouse releases I've been putting off. With stock at both locations, makes me wonder if Scorpion re-released it, I don't remember Walt mentioning that was going to happen. Either way, glad to have it over paying increased eBay prices or an import version. Was almost tempted to go for a new listing on eBay too, probably got put up once they realized it could be had for cheap right now and better to nab one of the ill-informed, glad I always check on things here first .

Scorpion did not re-release it. Quite the opposite actually. They posted this on Facebook yesterday...

a heads up, our rights to THE MONSTER CLUB is expiring, so be sure to pick up our BluRay of this before its gone forever. There is still good enough stock left at Diabolik and SAE so be sure to pick it up from either of them before it goes away.
So if you see it in stock anywhere, you'd better grab it before its gone.

I saw that facebook post. If Scorpion's rights are expiring surely that means another company might pick it up and do a newer scan. I'll grab an extra copy in case it goes OOP but I doubt it'll go OOP "forever".

No doubt, and you're welcome.

I had about 200 horror blu-rays before joining blu-ray.com last October. Now I'm up to 930 horror flicks. Always checking here first is why.

Finally watched my copy of THE MONSTER CLUB for the first time and I had a blast! It was like a fun, almost parody of those Amicus anthologies. That first segment was super intriguing, as was the last. The middle one, on the other hand, was probably one of the worst horror segments I've ever seen (total waste of such a great cast)... still, 2/3 ain't bad.

The highlight of the film for me was the club itself. The genealogy chart and Vincent Price's long monologue was hilarious, as was the "strip tease." And then the ending, where Price gives a passionate speech about how humans are the most terrifying monsters of all was spot-on and very moving. Really dug this movie!

To follow up on my previous comment, both the video interview and audio interview from the Scorpion disc are included in the Vincent Price Collection Vol 1 from Shout Factory. Had anyone run the Scorpion disc through BDInfo?

It’s similarly expensive, but these extras also form a part of the Image DVD compilation Vincent Price - The Sinister Image.

Does anyone know if The Monster Club is unlockable with the top menu trick?

The first time I watched this film was on Laserdisc in the early 90's and I loved it, I popped in my Blu-ray last night since I had not seen it in a couple years and it's still super fun and the music is fantastic.

Humgoo's Rule, Ok!

I wish this would get reissued. Who owns the rights to it anyway? I'd love to get rid of this bootleg I have.
