Just finished watching the latest episode for us in the UK - episode 4 - Memento Mori (wasn't that the title of an X-Files episode as well?).
BEST...EPISODE...YET. My favourite episode of Star Trek is probably 'Balance of Terror', certainly my favourite episode of the original series. I also love the film Wrath of Khan. I felt there were call backs and parallels to both in episode 4. However, what I didn't expect was just how well layered the episode was in terms of plot points. When you expected one thing to be resolved, another problem presented itself, then another (in a classic Trek episode, they would probably have rested on a couple) but this episode kept going and going. Also, Captain Pike - my goodness you can't just help but love him and his optimism. I've missed that in Trek. |
