I'm very curious to know how this will be presented. The SLV is my favourite cut! All the extra scenes but without all that distractingly out of place CGI.

So let me get this straight...the bonus disc included with the $100 edition of the ST: Motion Picture 4K set has the original longer edition of the movie from 1983 as shown on TV and the Theatrical Cut? What is special about the longer cut from 1983? Are there scenes in there that will NOT be in the 4K Directors Cut? Argh!!! I'm not sure what to pre-order now!

So, it looks like this set is the best choice! You get both the 4K AND Blu-Rays of all 6 films AND it also looks like you get the bonus TMP discs with the SLV. The description is vague and just says Theatrical Cut, but I'm betting those discs also have the SLV.

Now it will royally suck if they announce Director Cuts for the other films at a later time, which will make this set obsolete. I feel bad for people who spent money on that 4-movie 4K set.

SLV is the theatrical cut with scenes from the TV cut added back in. Director's cut is an updated, slightly re-edited theatrical cut with some alternate scenes from the SLV added back in.

So if I own the original STTMP Directors Cut DVD, do I have that SLV version already?

I don't want to double-dip on the 6-movie set AND the Deluxe STTMP set. That's a bit overkill for me personally, and I don't need all that bonus repro swag. I can live without a few added scenes I guess.

No, I think the SLV has only ever been released on pan and scan Laserdisc and VHS, no DVD or better releases until now.
