Two down of the announcements AOD & The Fog. Just the wait on the features. Wishes that are not going to happen. Fright Night 2. The Midnight Hour unless they get something with Disney.

I'm very curious to see how many of the 4 discs on the Army of Darkness release are UHD's. If I were to place a wager, I'd go with only 1, the theatrical cut, with all other cuts being the existing blu ray's given the msrp. I could possibly see 2 of the discs being UHD's, but more than that seems highly improbable.

I would bet on theatrical and directors cut being uhd.

I think you're right and it'll just be 1 UHD and the 3 existing Blu-rays, but hopefully the UHD will include multiple cuts. Since this is a 4-disc release, I just hope the discs aren't stacked.

I hated Army of Darkness when I first watched the film. I was excited for another Evil Dead film but what I got instead was a not-so-funny extended three stooges skit with demons in it. Huge disappointment. I've since softened my harsh criticism of the comedy aspect and enjoy it as a decent studio horror film but I'd rather not associate it with the Evil Dead series despite the character Ash being in it. I really hope this is the last word on the film. It's been reissued so many times I've lost count.

Robocop, long shot. Teen Wolf, maybe. If so, it will be a Shout release. Big Trouble In Little China, not gonna happen. It’s now Disney-owned, and they’re literally waiting for all their prior licensing deals to die so they have 100% control over everything. The Exorcist III, it would either be through Shout or Warner Bros. With the 50th anniversary of The Exorcist next year, someone’s going to release it. My only question is who owns/has the rights to the Morgan Creek catalog?

Deaf Crocodile just did a 4K restoration of Assault On Precinct 13, and that’s hitting disc soon. Unknown who it’s from, but Shout did the last Blu-ray that recycled the Image transfer.

As widespread as it can be given its purpose. It’s meant to give the absolute best picture and sound to those who want the absolute best, and won’t settle for standard Blu-ray. Just like physical media is for those who won’t settle for streaming. Physical media/DVD is a niche of the movie market. Blu-ray is a niche of the physical media market. 4K is a niche of the Blu-ray market. So a niche of a niche of a niche. DVD currently makes up about 60% of the home video market, Blu-ray makes up about 30%, and 4K makes up about 10%. 4K will become about as widespread in 2022 as laserdiscs were in the 90s.

That was me... I had asked them directly if they would be at Sdcc with a line up ... and their response was... "they will be there and that everything will be back to how it was previously... "

I've been banking on it and The Gift since they've released some Raimi before a couple times already. So it makes sense to me if they release those two films.

Got my She-Creature UHD (it's actually not but it said that on the envelope and I was hoping it somehow got upgraded ) and poster today. Figured the poster would come in a tube. Now it's all folded and I will never use it.

I guarantee it's only going to be 1 cut of the film. I'm basing this on what they did with Lifeforce. They'll do 1 cut and the other 3 will be recycled Blu-rays from the collector's edition.

At least they didn't fold it down to blu-ray case size, like VSA, MVD etc. And I appreciate the cardboard backing to protect it.

I heard on the 4th Scream mistakenly posted the Army slip uhd+steelbook+pins+vinyl for $52 and everyone who rushed to place that order had their order cancelled and was given a $5 store credit.
I also heard the Fog Neca figure sold out, even though they didn't show anything but the box, which I thought was pretty dumb.

The only thing guaranteed at this point is that at least 2 of the 4 discs will be scratched up...and likely all of them.

BTW, was the StudioCanal "restoration" able to do anything with the weird hazy light splotches that briefly appeared in the film (IIRC, it was most noticeable around one or more of the Nancy Loomis and Janet Leigh scenes)?
