Personally I don't. It's owned by Netflix and made by Shawn Levy's production company for Netflix, so there's no outside studio to come and save it from streaming prison like something like The Crown has with Sony. This is a Netflix property, they'll want people to subscribe for it and rent it indefinitely, not give a one time purchase. I don't believe in that logic, but they think disc is the enemy.

Also, remember that 50% of Stranger Things is damn near a replica / re-skin of most 70s-80s films you've already seen. If you don't think so or believe me have the duffers splain it 2 ya.

Their ability lies in remixing those ideas into an original enough narrative, paving the way for a unique story and interesting characters.

Which is basically what creativity is all about. Every possible story has already been told. It's all about how you reshape what's come in the past into something never before seen.

There has been a little bit of E.T., The Goonies, Aliens, The Terminator, A Nightmare on Elm Street and God knows what else... yet mixed with a healthy dose of heart, some Dungeons and Dragons mythology and period pop culture, put together in a way that you won't find anywhere else.

It also helps that the Duffer Brothers have a very specific vision, and firm grip on the storytelling.

Which is more than you can say about most of the formulaic stuff being churned out these days.

Yep, also, they've been announced for a US release, there's just no release date. You can even find them here.

If you mean having a database entry, that doesn't mean they were announced it just means a page was created by a user assuming the US would get it when info about the Canadian release was found. It happens all the time. WB hasn't announced anything.

Thought this was interesting and fun,.Stranger Things creators,The Duffer Brothers want to see the whole series released on 4K Blu Ray once the show finishes with Season 5.They also want to release at least season 1 in the old style VHS pan & scan format on Netflix alongside the normal 4K version on the service.Here's the link to the interview.

Whether Netflix agrees with them releasing the whole series on 4K Blu Ray(and for me personally also regular Blu Ray either included or a separate set) or doing a Pan & Scan inspired version of maybe season 1 on the streamer(a fun novelty) is another question.
