Stumbled into this thread late to the party, and looks like I missed the Straight Story by mere moments. I placed an order for it and got the cancellation email shortly after, and now it's showing as out of stock.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at to a lesser extent, but didn't word it so well.

I finished the 1st episode and at times the picture quality is shockingly good--better than a lot of my blus that have come out recently.

I noticed Susperia came back yet again (and has since disappeared), I keep missing it because I'm too cheap to pay the $2 shipping. What's wrong with me?

I ordered it twice and it was canceled twice, so you didn't miss too much.

In one of my $3.99 Canadian import BD orders, I was sent the DVD instead of BD for 1 movie. I checked my order and it clearly says "Blu-ray". What is the easiest way to fix this? Email, chat, or phone call? I haven't needed to contact DD before this.

They don't have chat. Calling is way more effective than email.

For people who have called them recently, is it usually a long time on hold or relatively quick and painless? Is any particular time better to call?

I've only had to call them a few times, and did so just last week, and it was quick and painless.

If it was "Honest Thief" same thing happened to me. It is a mixup on their site I think (DVD and Bluray reversed). I asked for a refund as I didn't want them to send out the DVD again. They said that the warehouse would check the listings.

It would be cool if they have notes and won't require me to prove I was sent a DVD instead of BD. It would be preferable if they would send me the DVD instead so I can get the BD, but I don't know if they'll do it, or they might correct the mix-up before mine ships and send me another DVD.

That means it's safest to ask for a refund and pay more to buy the US BD.

I ordered the DVD listing today as the UPC code matches the blu-ray version. Hope they don't fix the mistake before they ship out my order.

It was almost 10 minutes on hold to call them. I was told I have to send back the incorrect Honest Thief DVD with a label they'll send me to get my $3.39 + tax refund. I was told if I want to try to order the incorrect DVD to get the BD, I would have to place another order. I think it's easier to buy the US BD for around $8 during Target B2G1F.

My goodness that sounds like horrible customer service. Even random eBay sellers will sometimes just tell you to keep it if they send you the wrong item.

I'm in your shoes, too, on Honest Thief. Sounds like I'll need to mail it back.
