Oh, I had no idea they had a blu ray version of the film on these releases (they haven't had any for their four previous Argento releases). I have the Arte on order so hopefully it's the same.
This is a welcomed surprise!

Totally understand extras being on an additional blu but a copy of the film disc...why?!
The worst offender I have seen is the Studio Canal LE of The Ladykillers, it came with 4K, blu ray and DVD copies of the movie

You can never have too many copies of Ladykillers, regardless of the format

Agreed. I wish the previous ones were the same.

Razorhead, for the same reason BDs were bundled with DVDs. Appeal to a wider potential customer base of people who have not shifted to UHD yet, but intend to.

I don't have a UHD player in the living room, so it is nice to have the BD option included.

Same. I have both 4K and 2K TVs and players so it's nice to be able to play the film on all of them. If this release hadn't been dual format I wouldn't have bought it.

Can someone with the Demonia LE take out the digipak and put a standard Arrow 15mm case inside (if it is even possible)? I am wondering if they're by any chance the same size and I could put either a custom sleeved case inside or come up with something else. The slip looks like a flimsy version of what the Demons and Battle Royale 4K editions came in.

Yep, I don't buy the Arrow UHD's because they don't have the BD included. I understand it's trickier for boutique companies to manage the costs, but it does discourage customers from putting their money into a format they're not yet ready for.

Good god, I checked an unboxing video and it's as if they took the only bad aspects of both the LE of Demons and the regular editions of both Demons and tried their hardest to make it worst. Thank God I couldn't care less about this movie but for it's fans, what a disappointment this must be.

It's funny how Arrow are masters at great packaging but once in a while (like the 4k LE of Demons), they will try something new and absolutely fall on their faces. In the case of the Demons movies, at least Arrow got back on their feet and did excellent regular releases that were miles better than the LE (it even had extra blu rays). So hopefully they do the same with the regular release of Demonia!

It'll likely drop the 'Fulci Talks!' Bonus disc, which isn't a huge deal breaker, but it'd be nice to have a slip on the standard edition and I'm sure that'll be dropped as well. I primarily want better compression than the Severin release.

Yeah this is great news although I do wonder why they're only doing this now?

Could be encouragement from Zavvi as they created dual format exclusives for Arrow previously if I am not mistaken. It's a win-win in my book. I have the previous blu ray steelbook. I'd have to keep it if there was no equivalent in the arte original set I have on the way to me. I really only bought the new set for the English inserts because I grew up with the precert tape. I have a 4K player but it's in one room only whereas I have blu players in multiple other rooms including a projector. Having the blu is more versatile and I watch movies for the movie, not the pixel count. It costs labels little to include the disc but presumably attracts users who are planning ahead.

New restoration? All the prior Argentos already had restored BDs on market.

Though it does not explain titles like Crash, Tremors, and many others outside of the dual format SteelBool ones (Dune, True Romance, Wild Things).

The Tenebre BD is so good it looks as good as many a 4K disc out there.

It might not drop it, as it's not listed as Limited Edition exclusive on Arrow's website. Though I suppose they might try and sell it individually, like the Cronenberg Early Works (vs. their original inclusion with Videodrome).

Agreed, I’d buy this in a heartbeat if it didn’t include the 4K disc.

Surely a Blu-ray standalone will be on its way when the UHD standard edition drops, the new restoration is meant to be very good even in 1080p!

I notice that the new Tenebrae is 1.0 mono. What happened to dual mono like they used to release? Dual sounds much more robust through my soundbar

I would love if they did Rollin like they have done Argento.

I'm not 4k ready yet so I had a quick scan of the Tenebrae Bluray last night and wow it looks fantastic, I will be watching it all tonight.
