To check whether a title has English subs or not, look for "English" under "Sous-titres":

Is there a trick to creating an account? It keeps giving me an error on my Postal Code for Canada. As far as I can see there is no field to enter it.

It's been a while since I created mine, but I think I had the same issue at one point. I just used a different browser and made sure that my ad blocker plugins were disabled for their site.

Got it done. Default shipping country was US. Changed it to France and the field for postal code appeared. Switched back to Canada and was able to register. Ordered 11 titles for now, averaged out to just over $12CDN each.

I paid 13 EUR for about 13 titles, which is honestly very reasonable. Not sure about smaller orders.

I also paid €13 shipping on 10 titles. My average cost per title after shipping was $11 US per title. The Gaumont blu-rays are especially well priced. I was very happy with the sale.

Thanks for sharing the details on this sale! I've been meaning to pick up Jean de Florette and this seems like a great opportunity. I see that some Patrice Leconte films are there, too - so maybe I'll grab Monsieur Hire.

Anyone willing to offer a list of other high recommendations in addition to the purchase lists earlier in this thread? Unfortunately, I'm not region free - A only (I know, I know...)

Any particular genres you're looking for? I'll throw in a few region free recommendations but these are all over the place style wise.

Subway (1985) - early Luc Besson movie with Christopher Lambert and Isabelle Adjani. Very 80s and has a unique atmosphere that dwells on the parallel world of the subway's inhabitants. This was a cult film in France before Besson blew up big time and became known for his increasingly dumber blockbusters. Pairs nicely with Diva (1981).

Mort d'un Pourri (1977) - later era Georges Lautner crime thriller with Alain Delon and Klaus Kinski about political and financial corruption. One of my personal favorites, with a stellar jazz soundtrack and a doomed fatalistic tone.

La Reine Margot (1994) - historical drama based on the Alexandre Dumas novel of the same name. Set during the French Wars of Religion between Catholics and Protestants. Won the Jury Prize at Cannes when it still meant something, and it's a feast for the eyes.

Le Grand Restaurant (1966) - Wholesome and pleasantly goofy Louis De Funès movie where he's the tyrannical owner of a fancy restaurant.

Order arrived today in good shape, no issues. Watched La Fin du monde. Movie’s not so great but it was still fun to watch a vintage sci-fi disaster movie regardless of the director’s philosophical intentions. Pretty cool that the supplements included 15 minutes of footage shot during filming too!
