Bill Hunt is the source and had to confirm it directly with Paramount.

He also is awaiting clarification on the special features for v and VI.

He also assumed that the ST 6 BR would have both cuts.

But hey if the decided this set of releases would include parts 1, 2 and 3 of a 5 part documentary and skip parts 4 and 5 -- okay then. Their inconsistency is very consistent!

Because those back covers of 5 and 6 show previous features from the 2009 release but decided not to mention rare features that had been exclusive to the 50th anniversary set?

So the UK should have DC4K | DCBD | TC/SLV4K | TConly?BD | CloakedBonusFeatBD
So the UK shows 4 but it says 5 so 1 is hidden? Then the US one shows 3 - does that mean it's 4 and 1 is hidden, or really 3?

Isn't there a release that has 4 discs in some region?

It says in large letters, "Exclusively featuring all three cuts of the film in 4K Ultra-HD."
Amazon often has incorrect details in their listings, so it's fair to not trust what's on Amazon's site. And there's been lots of confusion because there are multiple releases happening with different discs and versions.

No. That's not how it works.

Just as the "R" rated cuts of films like Spawn or Superman V. Batman didn't eliminate the "PG-13" versions.

Paramount made an error.

This isn't something Amazon's stating. They have the picture of the back of the box on their site. It says it's three discs, with all three versions on UHD in Dolby Vision.

Please take a look at the MPA website. See if you can find a listing for the 1979 cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

https://www.filmratings.com/Search?f...Trek&x=22&y=14

I'll give you a hint, it's not listed which is why that version is now unrated. You will see they submitted "The Director's Edition" of Wrath of Khan and that exists as well as the theatrical cut, but as for TMP, only one version is listed, "The Director's Edition."

Look up The Wizard of Oz - the 3D "PG" version didn't eliminate the "G" rated version. Again - this is Paramount shenanigans.

Thank you for proving my point. As the MPA lists both versions of Oz, both versions are rated. As there is only one listing for "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" ("The Director's Edition") that means no other version is rated. This is not a Paramount screw-up or shenanigans. It is a MPA ruling and it means only "The Director's Edition" has a rating anymore. The theatrical cut and "Special Longer Version" are unrated and the packaging is correct.

Proving this further and going back to your original post please note that both versions of "Batman v Superman" are listed while both versions of "Spawn" are also listed.

That list is not infallible. Ben-Hur 1959 isn't listed either. You think when Warner reissues it that it won't still be rated "G"?

Try searching for it without a hyphen and you'll see it was rated "G" in 1969. This isn't some fan made list. This is the official rating site of the MPA.

Any chance we could do a poll on this thread to see who is buying the deluxe set?

With all the discussion on what we get with each set would be interesting to see what people intend to do.

Yes, it is. It's just listed without the hyphen.

https://www.filmratings.com/Search?f...en+hur&x=0&y=0

And he's correct about ratings. When a film is submitted as "Edited for re-rating" that cancels out the previous rating attached to the film. For the original theatrical cut to be re-rated to G, it would have to be resubmitted.

The other films you cite had their alternate versions submitted AS separate films, thus the different ratings attached to them.

The US set is advertised in the press release as 3 discs so I would assume that is correct, the U.K. set has always been advertised as 5 discs so willing to bet it will be the same 4 disc packaging that Europe seem to be getting but with the bonus disc included in a sleeve with the posters etc

Well, I've just preordered the 5-disc set with the three versions of the film (The Complete Adventure).

Not really a fan of the feature films (with the original cast, or otherwise), but I did enjoy watching the first two, and I've never seen the SLV and DC before.

Expensive set, but what the hell.

Ehm..it does have both cuts.
What is your source for the claim that the Blu Ray of ST 6 will only have one cut?
An dont say its a pre-released cover. Thats not trustworthy.

I dont see a reason why the star trek 6 Blu Ray should only have one cut.
Star Trek 2 also came with both cuts branched.
Nothing less i expect from star trek 6 on remastered blu ray.

So far this remastered Blu Rays are a mirror image to their UHD counterparts.
Why should it be different with Part 6?

But Paramount would do themselves a favor in releasing final Specs (Picture, Sound...everything) because there is a LOT of confusion on the internet about those releases......

There's probably only one never before deleted scene included which is the one with Decker and the Ilia probe in Engineering with Scotty. They may have some more footage of the alternate spacewalk with Kirk and Spock. But between the three versions of the movie there is very little footage that has not been seen. And the previous release of the director's Edition on DVD had all the footage that was not in the directors Edition in two separate deleted scenes sections. I'm guessing they have some random lines of dialogue from here and there in the movie. Possibly the brief scene of the security guard getting Zapped by the probe, although it is disputed whether or not that scene was shot or just rehearsed. I hope I'm wrong and they have some deleted scenes we've never heard of.
