The alternate title/cover looks like a vampire movie. Regardless- it sounds really interesting and one I’ll be adding to my order.

First I'm seeing that title and ridiculous cover. That's promising something this film doesn't offer.

Rest assured, it's not official.

I figured - just made me laugh when I came across it. The premise sounds unique - unlike anything I’ve seen told cinematically before. And I like the cast. Point is, I appreciate this release, jah. Title I’m most excited for this month

It did have a US VHS release way, way back, actually from a major label, RCA/Columbia Video. I rented it; yep, terrific acquisition here!

Default Today's announcement of new FCE title

Sometimes I hear or/and read about a film I've not heard of (from discussions on here or elsewhere, and from an announcement of a physical media release of it). Today's announcement of FCE title Natural Enemies, among the several/multiple Partner Label releases (on VS's website) is one of those times. I'd never heard of it before, but it's certainly going on the list of Partner label releases I'll be getting eventually (along with fellow FCE titles Born to Win and Heartbreakers).

Have seen Hal Holbrook in the Dirty Harry sequel Magnum Force, and eventually will get round to watching TV series The Bold Ones: The Senator.

Born To Win is amazing.

Great performances by some up and coming actors who would go on to become big names.
[Show spoiler]Including a small role by a young unknown named Bob DeNiro
.

I haven't seen Heartbreakers yet... but I may just throw that one in tonight!

All the chat about NATURAL ENEMIES today totally propelled me to buy it, so I added it to my sub order. Then i just decided to read the plot synopsis...urgh! I would not have picked this up if I read that first, just sayin'. But I'll trust FCE on this one and hope I'm not headed for a massive bummer.

Oh, that alternate title and cover art is definitely an amusing WTF, especially after you actually see the film.

Jeff Kanew actually went straight from making NATURAL ENEMIES to editing ORDINARY PEOPLE for Robert Redford.

Redford was a friend and colleague of Kanew's, as Kanew had edited the trailers for some of Redford's biggest films of the '70s.

Redford looked at NE to gauge Hal Holbrook for the part that eventually went to Donald Sutherland in OP.

Redford was a supporter and admirer of NE and, while NE goes considerably darker than OP, the films have some shared subject matter and tone. Each is a serious, domestic drama from a literary source, and one can understand how Redford would entrust the editing of OP to Kanew, after the latter had made NE.

I just got done watching Heartbreakers... what a fantastic film!

Such great, well-written characters with layers...

A great soundtrack by Tangerine Dream...

And a wonderful 80s time capsule of a film...

I was glued to the screen the whole time!

The PQ/SQ were outstanding as well...

I really wish the soundtrack would get repressed on vinyl by Mondo or Ship To Shore or a like label... that would be an instant grab for me!

Man Natural Enemies seems like a really depressing film. When i saw Hal Holbrook on the cover i was very interested, now i'm not so sure.

Just received my copy of Heartbreakers. So happy.

P.s. I've noticed this on a your titles and I want to say I'm glad to see you have your own menu design now. The label now feels like its solidifying its own identity.

I can’t remember the last time a FCE release wasn’t better than all of VinSyn’s announcements in any given month.

(A bold statement, no doubt.)

We appreciate this statement very much, Bob, thank you. We like to think we are usually swimming in much different waters than VS.

Thank you, Bergman.

Yes, the current menu design actually goes back to PRIMETIME PANIC, as I recall.

Since I have everything but the April and May titles from this year I could easily check.

I know I didn't mention it but I love the menu design. Aesthetically pleasing and functional. Nicely compact and unique for your label.

Natural Enemies - what a brilliant announcement. Never thought this would hit DVD, let alone Blu-Ray. A harrowing, bleak and nihilist masterpiece. Only movie that comes close to this would be Michael Hanekes "The seventh Continent".

Day one for me - thanks for releasing it.

Fresh to disc titles are always welcomed. I think Heartbreakers is my favourite FCE disc to date. Easily top 5 of the year.

To go from my VHS to this Blu Ray edition is fantastic. Beats another same old re-release any day of the week.

Keep up the good work

Thanks, Joel. Looking forward to more feedback and reviews on HEARTBREAKERS. We're definitely very proud of the disc and extremely happy to have gotten the film back out there.
