I had received a number of slips of late from someone else.. mostly Blu-ray. It was a cool bunch with a number that had stickers from retailers on them. Was able to replace some others I had with wear on them. I used to think of myself as very good with removing them but I totally just failed on a A24 blu slip. My belief is that if they didn't use enough gloss on the slip, it surface is prone to wear from just using goo-gone or in my case, de-greaser cleaner. Shame since it was an A24 title that probably would get a couple bucks if sold since the slips available on Ebay for that title seem very limited. I did remove the large Fry's price sticker tho. Just the de-greaser did damage to the surface. I have to admit that Fry's price stickers are the most difficult to remove. Those stickers have a ton of sticky goo on them. Fry's stickers are also the ugliest retail stickers due to their size. So the debate is whether to keep the sticker or risky small amount of damage by removing. Some stickers from de-funct sellers would be cool to keep on the slip but the Fry's sticker was too large for my taste.
I did get a number of blu-ray slips. If you guys are looking for titles, let me know. None of them are boutique labels tho other than a few A24 titles. I don't think those A24 titles will go 4K anytime soon tho. Probably looking to charge $5 per $7 per title depending on title but a bulk deal would work also. Obviously half of the price alone is just in the shipping. Not used to shipping slips so if there is advice to lower the weight and keeping the shipping costs low would be good. Previously in the past, when I did mail a slip via first class.. I used 4 pieces of cardboard. I would sandwich the slip between the first two pieces of cardboard. Then, I would add a layer of bubble wrap on both sides, followed by the final 2 pieces of cardboard for the outside. This adds bulk to the package but protects the slip well. Of course, that was when I sold a couple of 4K slips that were in demand (Guardians of the Galaxy 4K & Goodfellas 4K) which commanded a larger price. Now, I have a bunch of blu ray slips that I think the margins would be small unless I did a bulk sell. Never sold slips for under $7 before. Last edited by 88Saleen5.0; 08-19-2022 at 06:31 PM. |

Last I checked, Media Mail is $3.49 up to 1 pound; $4.16 up to 2 pounds and $4.83 up to 3 pounds. As an aside, when I shipped an order of 20+ slips, I flattened them into 2 piles of 10+; wrapped them with those Small Flat Rate Boxes and dropped them in what I believe was a recently received used Kino box with some foam peanuts. Everything fit perfectly and it still weighed less than 2 pounds so $4.16 which isn't too bad ![]() |

Slips don't qualify for media mail.

I guess the best way to qualify slips for media mail is to simply use the slip on a blu-ray case with a blu-ray, DVD, or CD disc inside per what was said earlier. But then again, many of us don't have many blank blu-ray cases laying around to just use as part of the mailing.
