Release date Oct 3rd. Will be interesting to see what print they use.

Isn't this their first blu-ray? Mostly known for releasing British pictures from the 1940's to 1970's.

I have their Bachelor of Hearts DVD. It's like a 1980s TV broadcast: ropey print trimmed at the edges to make it 4:3.

I'll be waiting for reviews before I commit to this.

Yeah, I'll be waiting to see what the reviews are like. Vampire Circus and Twins of Evil are my favourite Hammer productions.

The fact that they didn't stump up some cash to make their WordPress site ad-free doesn't fill me with confidence.

Wordpress site? That appears to belong to strawberry-media (some kind of creative agency) and not Strawberry Media.

As regards AR I think Strawberry very much takes what its given, I have the now old Synapse BR so it will have to be a step up from that before I consider buying.

I had been hoping they would lose the UK rights then someone who's more likely to get a new scan could have taken over, like Network.

Some raved how the Imprint version was much better. But when I look at the caps all I can see is they pushed the gamma up and highlighted further issues with that master. https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&...174113&i=8&l=0

The US release is very dark. And I read several negative comments about the Aussie release, so I skipped it.

Agree the US is far too dark - the Auz one too light... we need something in between

Silliest comment I've read online today. As someone who ran a cinema for a while, I can assure you this is nonsense. We didn't spend time adjusting bulb brightness for films, they went on as they came, only differences being aspect ratios and sound mixes. And no, film prints weren't made dark for cinema exhition, they were sent as they were meant to be seen.

It is an offbeat, highly surreal number with oodles of blood and gore thrown in. A Transylvanian village is sealed off from the outside world due to an outbreak of the plague. Anyone who tries to get in or out is shot dead by the police. Nevertheless a travelling circus somehow breaks through the lines, and boy, are all its bloodless-looking performers a wee bit strange!

There is a gypsy male who seems to be able to turn himself into a panther, and a pair of very creepy acrobatic twins, who seem impervious to pain and can transform themselves into birds. All of it is presided over by Adrienne Corri, who makes a suitably vampy Ring-Mistress.

Added to all this the village itself is living under a curse imposed on them by an aristocrat they killed several years before for being a vampire, all of which is related in the violent and blood-splattered opening sequence to the film. A Creepy Hammer horror with bite!

VC,CD,HOR,& Twins all need NEW Restorations ! I wish Shout would release them with slipcases like they did with the Universal Hammer titles and the others

That would be great, though I think Network in the UK is probably our best bet.
