Honestly it feels like Top Gun has had more sustained success always staying in the box office rankings and even breaking records for longevity.

Not to be "that guy", but they list Walt's Three Little Pigs with a release date of 1932, the same year as Flowers and Trees. Pigs was released in May of 1933.

It's like the good old days when moves would stay in theatres for months & not get dropped after two weeks because the next superhero flick was coming out.

Studios need to relearn that some films need time to build word of mouth & it shouldn't all just about the opening weekend.

Several articles I've read claimed this would be on Paramount+ today.. and it's not. Am I missing something?

I was sure this would be overrated as **** and a reactionary, slick piece of propaganda fetishizing American military power. Turns out it's just a really well-made legacy sequel with characters one cares about and moments of emotional resonance. A wonderful tribute to Tony Scott. 4 stars.

Probably around the same time as the physical release. Right now they can still make a lot of money with streaming purchases.

Ukraine Top Gun: Maverick is a $1.455 billion flick

Who's the enemy, Iran?
▪︎ https://screencrush.com/top-gun-mave...s-dead-theory/

Can Maverick make another $50 million worldwide? Yes.
* As of yesterday: $1,404,219,728

Yesterday was the lowest domestic box office revenues...$780,759 (Day #88)
* Total gross: $684,219,728

Maverick uses ultra electric Duracell batteries for longevity and extra endurance and long distance. He also uses solar panels on its wings to recharge.

The domestic graph on the-numbers still shows Maverick pulling some G’s above the clouds.

Finally got to see this last night. LOVED IT. The first one I enjoyed but felt a bit empty. A lot of sight and sound but not real depth. Need to revisit to see if I still feel that way. Don't buy many physical releases anymore but I would love a 4K 2-pack.

I guess part of the reason for releasing the discs so late in the year is so that nobody waits around for a Black Friday special
