It was my birthday at the weekend, and the Missus outdid herself!

She also got me a Super 8mm copy of Come Play With Me, which is going to be pride of place when the ol' Home Cinema room is finally finished. Three years late.

Oh, and there was lots of bottles of scotch, some vodka, T-shirts and number of cool books. I haven't tried the "Arson-Fire" hot sauce yet, but the picture of a guy with flames jetting from his sphincter on the jar doesn't inspire confidence...

As to the hot sauce, wait a few years ... most food will have that affect. So enjoy the spicy when you can!

Yep I'm 43 now and my body's ability to handle anything spicy is rapidly diminishing.

Quick question if it's alright!
I'm about to post my first post in this thread in about a decade I think. Do the resizing of images to a fitting size (if needed), happen automatically?

Haven't posted haul pics in a looot of years, but this month I thought I would begin, so I kept all my pickups separate and what do you know. It turned out to be one of my biggest months ever.

Few thoughts:
Expensive to import all the Kurosawa US Criterions (+Ghost Dog) but worth it.

The stack to the right on picture two is from Amazon.de. God bless their 6 for 30 deals (There's non-deal stuff too though).
I've learned to live with the german titles on some titles, since the alternative on some of them is US import at usually 2x-4x the cost - but english subs is still a requirement, so a bit of research is needed!

Finally, I've really rekindled my love for dvd. These last 10-15 years I've been a "I'll wait for the blu-ray" guy, but after rewatching ALIAS Season 1-5 dvd's last month, and being totally okay with the quality, this is no more, and I'll be picking up the leftovers of my favorite shows that are stuck on dvd (Shoutout to The Leftovers - brilliant show). I've been neglecting watching stuff I want due to picture quality - no more.

I have been good and kept the spending way down these past few months. I can't keep buying with nowhere to put them, so just end up putting them in plastic wallets or in those heavy duty bags you get from sports direct left on top of wardrobes. I'm working on getting quality over quantity and used store credit to get these and so doesn't really count

With the cost of living crisis I’ve virtually stopping buying discs, don’t know how the regular posters on here can afford what they do (several times a week for some!) but fair play to them for obviously having very good, well paid jobs!

I just look on this thread with envy :-)
