I might watch it later and add a postscript to the main review as it's still using the same underlying 4K transfer just with a new encoding, the SLV scenes tacked on and the OG subs added in. I've already had a quick look though and the encode is not worse, I can assure you of that.

Other Walmart's in my area didn't get any of the Complete Collection sets, and if it's due to employee shortages and the individual 4k discs are sitting in the back room, who knows if they have any. Walmart doesn't seem to be in any hurry to stock or restock items. With the Complete Collection sitting on the shelf on Monday had me in shock.
Target... forget it. Target doesn't seem to take this part of retail too seriously and they haven't even had the Complete Collection on their website.
Best Buy is a puzzle. Ours had two, they sold out, then two more show up today, then sold out... this afternoon when I stopped in, one was in store. And all this time after the first two sold out, their website has stated not for delivery and sold out within 100 miles from me. Go figure.
Amazon has been another puzzle. They've had a lot of listings change in the last few days, and if you read anything after people complaining about deliveries, it gets even more confusing. At times, a third-party seller is selling them on Amazon. Later, it's Amazon selling them. Huh?
Good hunting, regardless of who you choose to confuse you.
Man I need TMP, V and IV since I already bought the original 4 movie collection last year. I just want mint copies with slips, but I don't trust anyone except ebay because I can at least see the case on there.

My set just arrived. Wow, it's much smaller than the pictures let you believe. It did come from the UK and it's in mint condition. I guess it did pay to upgrade the shipping cost.

My 4 movie set is ready for collection from the Amazon locker. I'm just not ready to go out in the downpour outside to get it yet!

Congrats! I also went with Global Priority shipping and mine was dispatched from the UK on the 3rd. It's still saying it'll be delivered on the 20th. Are you in the US? If so, which state, out of curiosity? I'm in southern Calif.

[QUOTE=Ben_R;20447193]So you’d come under that necessary category I mentioned, huh.

Effing hell Jeff Bozo, TL;DR. The force is strong and you're a fan. Gotcha.

-- Okay, so I'm older... TL ;DR. means... ?

And no, I don't care for the owner of Amazon, but every other retailer and business has opportunities to become super-sized and blew it.
The size Target and Best Buy are - is a joke and horrible leadership.
Jeff Bozo, as you put it, at least figured it out and isn't the screw job Walmart became, even with the tax free income and the trouble they cause many towns across America to prevent paying taxes.

Back to the first point.... TL ;DR. means... ?

That's why they show you the marketing images with everything spread open, with one copy of the book in the case, and another one sprawled out in front, even though you only get one of course. And sometimes they show two posters, one showing the front and one showing the back, even though you really get just one two-sided poster. It makes it look like you're getting more than you are. An old trick but still effective. The only thing they show accurately is the amount of discs (usually).

Yeah if I ever order stuff from Amazon UK, I almost always upgrade the shipping, especially if it's a box set. The less time it's in transit, the less chance it has of getting damaged.

I mentioned this in another thread, but one nice thing about having the 2.0 for the Special Longer Version is that I think it's essentially the original stereo sound mix for the theatrical version, albeit expanded to include the added scenes (with transitions into and out of some of them), and probably with some EQ-ing for early video standards.

I'm mostly okay with the 7.1 for the theatrical cut we've had since 2009, but there is one oddball bit of business right before and after the wormhole sequence. Scotty's lines over the bridge intercom ("It'll happen again if we don't correct it.") have a distinctive echo applied to them. The SLV and even the new Atmos track for the DE have them sounding more like they did originally.

Of course, I'm mostly going off the old widescreen LD for comparison. I've seen TMP in theaters a few times over the years, but I don't remember specifically what those lines sounded like.

Yeah I'm in SoCal, likewise. I looked at the order date, because it was a last minute thing, and I pre-ordered it from Amazon UK on 8/30.

I don't know if I mentioned it already but a friend who also ordered his copy on that same day as I did just got a shipping notification today, but he didn't go with Global Priority, so he'll be waiting a couple more weeks for it.

I also have the Highlander box set with Global Priority.

Thanks! Huh. I pre-ordered on the same exact day as you, same shipping, everything. What was your estimated day of delivery?

Originally it was 9/12. Then it went to 9/9, and then it arrived today.
