I love that when anybody feels that a KISS product is too expensive, they immediately blame Gene Simmons for it. I'm guessing that their record company has a lot to say about the price.

KISS own their own recordings. THEY are in charge. Gene and Paul only care about $$$ and ego. Typical.

Their record label still has costs to cover for putting this out. Everybody involved needs to get paid. A surround sound mix won't be free. Some of these new tracks are probably on tape. They need to be digitized and possibly tweaked to make them sound better. They'll need a studio, an engineer and a producer to do that. That's not free. That's what I mean. There's a lot of people involved and they all need to get paid.

And you're jealous of their talent and their success so you come in here with nothing but negativity.

Don't kid yourself into believing KISS have "talent", they were a weak band at the start and they're weak now. However, you have to admire the drive and focus they had to follow their vision (although Bill Aucoin and Neil Bogart's respective wallets were essential to their journey ).

My brother knew how much I wanted this set so he just texted me that he ordered me the Super Deluxe as an early B-day present.

It's 2022 and major labels haven't been releasing on SACD for over a decade, why would you even expect one to begin with never mind be disappointed when it doesn't include one?

Only specialty audiophile labels are releasing on SACD.

FALSE!

KISS doesn't own their back catalogue of music, Universal does. They set the price on these boxsets, not Paul and Gene.

While I'm certainly not going to tell anybody what to like and don't like, I wholeheartedly disagree with you that KISS doesn't have talent. In the genres of Rock/Hard Rock/Metal, I've listened to everything. EVERYTHING! I also play guitar. Believe me, I HAVE a discerning ear when it comes to music! If KISS has no talent, please explain to me why despite me listening to and comparing/contrasting KISS' music with every other band in the same genres I still go back to it and enjoy it? If KISS was completely devoid of "talent" then it should stand to reason that I wouldn't give them the time of day. Yet I still do.

They sold their masters to universal?
Soon Universal will own all of music. It is horrible.

Kiss' masters have always been owned by the record label, which is owned by Universal.

What Paul and Gene do own is just about everything else, including all the trademarks and probably all the material going into this boxed set other than the original album.so they may not be directly responsible for setting the price, but I'm sure they are involved to some degree.

SHM-CD isn't written in Kanji - that is in plain English.
And SHM-CD is not the same as SACD.
