The way Peacock charges is not the same as other services. There is not an ad-free tier, rather you pay for an add-on to be ad-free.

So basically the normal pricing is:

Peacock - Free
Peacock Premium - $4.99/Month or Free with selected providers
Ad-Free - $5.00/Month

The promo pricing changes it to:

Peacock - Free
Peacock Premium - $1.99/Month
Ad-Free - $5.00

or you can pay $19.99 for the first year to get Peacock Premium then pay $5.00/month for ad-free.

Note that you can only have one promo so if you get Peacock Premium for free with your provider, you can’t do the 1.99month/19.99year.
