I received my UHD BD from the US (I live in Spain) and it got in mint condition even the slip cover.
I think this is the best Star Trek The Motion has ever looked, and I own a budget set up. Even with an entry level 55" LG OLED set and a Sony X800 M2, picture quality is great. Are the new FX perfect? No, they're not. Some are very good and blend very well with 1979 FX's and some not so much. What I like about this new DC is that is nothing like the Star Wars Especial Editions from1997. On these, the digital FX seem to be made on purpose to look like "new" (by 1997 standards) and don't pretended to blend in with 1977 original FX. The soundtrack even played in two channels on my new stero set up sounds great. One thing that has catched my attention about this new release is Jerry Goldsmith's score. It sounds better than ever and on par with the rest of the movie soundtrack. I think for Goldsmith's score on this release it's more than likely that they used the 2012 remix of the score and released by La La Land records. This 2012 remix sounds outstanding. |

This is precisely what I did. The outer glossy sleeve was dented pretty badly, but the inner box (which is quite thick and nice) was totally fine, so WTH ever. All I wanted was the discs anyway. All the swag inside was fine. I just threw the SLV/TC disc in with the standard set, and replaced the STVI BD (which I threw in the TCA box since I’ll never use it anyway) with the TMP bonus disc, and I’m good to go.

I preordered the star trek 4k 3 disk set. Sadly it came in with no padding and the sides creased up. I picked one up at local best buy. It was better condition but still creases on the long sides of the box. Are everyones creased up on the sides? For the money id like it in better condition bit not excited to start an expedition Around town

I noticed at least one surprisingly distinct difference from the La-La Land CD mix (and the original album) in a quick listen to the isolated score on the DE 4K disc (during the Klingon Battle). I was very pleased to find the entire Warp 7 music included and synched. I'm hoping to find more time to listen to it soon. Last edited by KC-Technerd; 09-17-2022 at 05:42 AM. |

Having now seen the three versions, I'd say the new 2022 DE is my favourite cut of the film. Glad THAT shot was fixed for the (first-time on home video) widescreen presentation for the SLV - and - also include the unfinished shot as an extra. |

I looked in this morning to see what people are saying, and I'll say something that I probably won't respond to. I've asked questions from the contacts I have (for a few years) regarding DS9 and Voyager, and the word that you used "nudge" has already happened - several times in several meetings and for various reasons. From what's been suggested, the suits have crunched the numbers (several times in several meetings) to see if there's profit in (at least) blu-ray issues and it seems to be left on the table for consideration every time for one reason or another. I've also been told that while the planning stages of Paramount + was a thing, the suits were looking at what they had for property rights and why they're now limiting what Amazon Prime gets as well, pulling back on reissuing the rights to carry on streaming services... some may have noticed that Amazon lost the rights to stream some of the shows now? It's all to bump up subscription sales to the streaming service. We all hear things like "the end of the physical media" but the fact is, there's still a profit margin in that (to some of the larger studios), so the end is probably not as near as some speculate. The reasons for that is speculation though, but the thinking is based on those profit margins as changes have taken place, especially the last couple of years. Several times, I've heard - based on what the pandemic has done to literally screw up the streaming services - "tip the ship on its side" was the wording... there are more suggestions of possible season one issues on blu-ray for DS9 or Voyager or both, just to see if the sales support the costs. Cross your fingers on this if you're interested because it may be coming sooner than later as a test to see if the costs justify the project(s). Good Hunting. |

Perhaps you've heard about something that's been happening in the last few years called "supply chain" - and now expand the thinking for a moment... the normal warehouse is jammed packed, and inventory may show that it's there... but where? Also, as those warehouses are jammed packed, additional warehouses had to be leased / rented for storage space. So, now "the other" inventory list may show it's there... but where? There's more to this insanity... from what I've heard, you may live in a town that has something like an old, mostly abandoned mall of some kind that's had some unusual truck activity in the last year or so? Guess where the overflow of inventory is going - but for obvious reasons, not a well known fact? Oh, and I used the word "town" because the value of some of this freight is so high that big city crime rates were considered in the thinking because the security systems haven't been fixed or turned on, or the lease / rent is much lower in the town (or both reasons for those who are thinking about the safety of their freight). For years, I knew of a few unmarked warehouses that use blind box shipping bills so that even the truckers themselves never really knew what they were hauling... like Nike shoes, like big screen TV's, etc., etc., etc. The largest retailers in the U.S. (Walmart, Amazon, to name a few) are aware they have stock... they just don't know where, or how "buried" it is along with other freight in some warehouse somewhere. By the way, expect more and more "sales" as stock comes into the stores (or Amazon warehouses) as the stores (or warehouses) also have limited storage space and can't accept it all at once, either. I hope that answers some questions. |

I do agree that supply chain issues are a mess these days, and often it seems nobody knows when they're getting stuff in. This affects everything from Lego to board games, movies to collectibles, and everything in-between. Heck, I haven't been able to find a box of vanilla instant pudding in any of my local grocery stores for like a month now. Nobody knows when they'll get more.

You made me laugh just now. I hate the stuff (vanilla pudding), but there's plenty of it around here. I just can't find the dark chocolate stuff or Chocolate Mini Wheats very often, but find plenty of it 100 miles from here. |
