So much for limited to 1500, they already repressed more, sales must've been such theyre just like, let's just pretend this was never limited in the first place.

Maybe he's going to host a Godzilla marathon on TokuSHOUTsu? Or maybe they're going to screen his Gorgo vs Godzilla short film? So ambiguous of a tease.

And don't complain about more copies being made available. There's no point in keeping something sold out just because you underestimated demand. It's a good thing.

Yeah, I think it'll probably be a Shout TV thing. They ran a marathon of the movies in November in honor of Godzilla's b-day.

Especially if we get the classic Spidey and Captain America out of Strange's success.

Said they had so many preorders 4 months ago that they were able to add more stock. Guess it’s plausible lol.

This is a second batch of 500, so it's really up to 2,500 total now I believe. Initial run was 1,500, then those sold out in a couple days. They added 500, which took a little while longer to sell out, and now another 500.

With Carpenter settling in to screen something, potentially Gojira related and openly admitting in the past he's an avid G-fan, I'd go bananas if Shout got the rights to license the original 1962 Japanese cut of King Kong vs Godzilla on 4K UHD (through a possible new deal between Universal and Toho) with a full length Carpenter commentary.

Wasn't really a complaint, picked up mine long ago. Point being part of the appeal of these is the supposedly limited nature. Every prior limited has eventually sold out but never been repressed, now this title has been...twice.
It's about consistency.
Limited to 1500...or just based on their sales?
It's like if Vinegar Syndrome reprinted a sold out OOP slip, that was stated to be limited to X number of copies, something VS has never done, collectors would be pissed if they did.

JC posted the video himself too and tagged all of Shout's streaming channels (SFTV, Scream Factory TV, Toku, and Cult). That should pretty much guarantee that it's going to be a streaming thing. Still, would be pretty cool to hear his thoughts on some Godzilla movies.

I believe there was at least one other Shout exclusive that sold out, but then was re-released years later. I think Shout really underestimated the demand for this one, and it probably should have just been a wide release, or a higher limited amount like 5,000 copies. I think the same holds true for The Ninth Configuration, and a few others that had relatively fast sell-outs.

Hopefully whenever they release the Spider-man films they'll have a higher limit (or no limit) from the start.

If they are going to press more "limited editions" then it would be nice if they went Vinegar Syndrome's route. Release it with a slip and then have a non limited standard edition as well. That way they can make as much as money as possible on each title without having the people that purchased the limited one feeling cheated.

The Deathstalker double-feature was reissued a few years after initially selling out. Hope they will re-issue a few others eventually.

I just think having access to these movies is more important than keeping true to their limited release strategy. There are plenty of Scorpion and Code Red titles that had 'limited' pressings, only to later get wide-release retail editions. Nobody minds that though. Why should these be different?

And surely Shout is more interested in the money from the customers that have not yet bought a copy than the ones who already did. What, are you going to return your copy because it's no longer part of a small batch?

Yeah i never thought Final Judgement was ever going to get a disc release. I think it's the first Corman title released by them that hasn't had a prior disc release.

Didn't they increase the print run on Dr. Strange once before too? Like an additional 500?

Default The original Child's Play

Wasn't sure whether to post this, as it's led to me seriously getting some or all of the films in the Child's Play series. Prior to last Friday night, had only seen bits of a few films in the series. The one-off screening of the original Child's Play at the local cinema was the first time I'd seen any film in the series in full. Have watched the first three or four episodes of Chucky's first season.

I'm aware of the Blu-ray boxset of the seven films released in both the States and the UK, and am considering getting Shout's 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray releases of the first three films in the series.

What did I think of the film last Friday night? Loved it, and the experience in the screen room. The right sort of crowd for a horror film (which included people laughing at the jokes, compared to the stony silence at some of the films in the Bond season this year). I usually prefer to go to the cinema earlier in the week when it's quieter. There was just the one screening at my local cinema of the original Child's Play, on the Friday night, so I decided to go. Glad I did. The transfer on the whole was beautiful, and one of the highlights was seeing the at-the-time MGM/UA opening logo (where was that at the beginning of The Living Daylights back in July at the cinema?). Loved the Chicago locations and spotting anything which is still there or isn't there in the present time in the One Chicago shows, along with the wintry setting.

Thought the cast were very good (great seeing Jack Colvin from The Incredible Hulk TV series) and many memorable moments (including a few scare scenes).

It was on the whole preposterous, but that was part of the charm of the film. I was entertained, had a good time and that was the main thing.

As well as Shout's 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray releases of the first three Child's Play films, am thinking about getting the same for the first two Halloween films.

Some people have implied that when VS finds extra stock they didn't realize they had, they are actually repressing discs and making new slipcovers...?
