Both films got the look of the games down really well. Now if they can make them scary, that would be great. These games are focused on the story that these films try to compress down to 90 minutes as the main challenge.
The horror moments in the games are really what take the games to the next level with the horror atmospheric music, creepy sound effects, bizarre monster designs and neglected buildings. Sean Bean might make a cameo with Rhada Mitchell (spelling?) as secondary characters if they really want to link the films. It's cool a new Silent Hill film is being made, though I really hope the director inserts some major new horror cinematography, pacing and angles to amp up the horror x10 compared to the first film. The first two films make the main hero seem too safe. They don't feel like they're in major danger for some reason. The monsters need to be more aggressive or something. The 2nd one, had some decent jump scares in 3D with the spider and the claw woman. Some great visuals too at times. Heather, she could've delivered a better performance IMO. |
