I had my Panny THZ 50' 85U model tv since 10/08. I have IR all the time when I use my PS3 while using the PS3 navaigation. Like the Time clock will be on the screen when im done using it. However it goes away after a 1min while I turn on HD content. Strange I say.

I haven't watched two letterboxed movies in a row and try and watch something that is 1:78 or 1:85 after I watch one that is wider than that just to use all the pixels. I haven't worried at all about watching HD. I'm a channel flipper so I think that helps keep things stirred up so to speak. I haven't seen any evidence of IR doing this and I figure that I will just keep taking my time to give this great dispaly a chance to get worked in totally. better safe than sorry.
