Collegeboy, I ordered mine just on Thursday, November 10th. The tin case comes in its own, seemingly bespoke, strong plain white cardboard carton (a perfect fit), but my copy was dispatched in a large, long shipping carton; one of those new, ludicrously thin cardboard boxes that THG Ltd*/Zavvi [*Arrow Films too?] now likes to use. This box is so flimsy that the weight of the deluxe, limited, exclusive, fairly expensive six-movie 4K UHD + Blu-ray SteelBook set burst the shipping carton open due to its own weight! Fortunately, that white cardboard case protected the precious cargo, but that carton was falling apart on the postman's shoulder, up the stair to my top (3rd) floor tenement flat (apartment). Mine only travelled up to Scotland. Had I needed to return it, and used the same carton, any Post Office would have refused to handle it. I have no idea and would not trust Zavvi to use more robust (i.e. adequate) packaging literally to ship (or fly) across the 'Pond'.

No, perhaps you misunderstood me. In an earlier post I explained that I had received mine, and criticised Zavvi for mailing my set in a large, oversized and very thin carton, that had burst open in transit (though the heavy tin and SteelBooks were saved entirely thanks to the bespoke, strong, protective cardboard box that comes with it from the manufacturer — I recommend other new owners keep theirs). The unhappy face emoji was in contrast to your smiley one, because the set is no longer in stock; and in sympathy for those who missed out. I did say I checked their site on Monday night and it was still available at that time. If I didn't have one, and wanted one, I would have ordered right then. As it is, I secured mine as soon as I received the promotional email from Zavvi saying it was available again. Thanks for your concern though

Dude, you weren’t kidding! The box Universal put the set in is superb and built for advanced levels of protection, and as a result of that, my JP set arrived perfectly mint, but the “long box” Zavvi enclosed Universal’s box in was basically as useful as wrapping it in wet tissue paper and it arrived shredded to hell and barely able to hold the inner box anymore. Zavvi is such a garbage company. If only they didn’t have such delicious toys…

It's even more inconceivable that incompetent, incontinent Zavvi would ship this intercontinentally in the same carton, with the thinnest grade of corrugated cardboard that I think I have ever seen, with those ridiculous 'air bags' loosely tossed inside, that could only but help shove that bulk, that heavy weight out the end of the carton, which even has perforated folds, just perfect for tearing themselves open! You would have had a greater chance of surviving intact to the United States as a passenger aboard the Titanic!

For US based Zavvi people that already received it, did it randomly pop up in tracking shortly before delivery on USPS Informed Delivery?

Mine arrived yesterday and was shipped through FedEx and I'm near Memphis, TN. It was weird too because I was able to track it the whole way from the U.K. Never been able to do that with Zavvi before. It only shipped out about a week ago. Definitely the fastest I've ever gotten something from Zavvi before. My outer package was long and flimsy and completely trashed. Luckily the actual box containing my set was undamaged.

Never had FedEx from them. I'd pay to have tracking available from them though. I live in a high theft area/building so I hate not knowing when to expect it. It's supposed to be here by tomorrow and I normally do get it within the standard window.

I have Informed Delivery and mine was delivered a few days ago but it never showed up on there and I was never able to get it to, even by entering the tracking info.
