It's a movie that gets better with each viewing, personally. Saw it 20 years ago in film school for the first time and kind of enjoying it. Saw it once or twice in the next few years and more recently with the Kino release and it just felt magical the last time. The new restoration and soundtrack helped too. It's also a really interesting movie to read about, there's just so much to say about it. I'm looking forward to dig into Eureka's booklet, especially since I never owned their previous release. Too bad they didn't include the big documentary that was in their original steelbook release, I was very intrigued by that one.

Nice!
Also need to check out Nosfaratu but not sure if I should hold out on a UHD of that too if this is coming on 4k.

Even if Eureka released Nosferatu in 4k, they'd be stuck with the same overly bright restoration and lesser soundtrack. The BFI version is the way to go, it has the darker transfer and the James Bernard score. It's the best way to watch the movie, imo. On top of that, the booklet that comes with the BFI version is so much better than Eureka's.

If I'm not mistaken, the last restoration of Nosferatu was completed at 2K. I think there was supposed to be another restoration done later but it fell through for one reason or another. Not saying a UHD couldn't happen at some point, but Caligari had the advantage as a 4K master already existed. Plus 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of Nosferatu and we've had nada other than that seemingly pointless re-release in the States from a label nobody's heard of.

It's a very unsettling film in my humble opinion. I haven't seen for a while but looking forward to revisiting.
