I actually watched all 250 from the 2012 poll, so I've seen all of these. It's kind of comical to see Parasite, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and Get Out on there while there's no Tree of Life, There Will Be Blood, Chinatown, etc. etc.

How few films does one have to of seen to believe Portrait of a Lady on Fire is the 30th greatest film of all time?

Jeanne Dielman is a great, audacious work. A very experimental and unique film experience. I think it's a very good film.

But the single greatest film of all time? Absolutely not. Quite absurd, actually.

Again, I'm not attacking it. It's a great film. But it is nowhere even near my top ten of all time films, LOL.

Never heard of Jeanne Dielman, oh wait, I mean Jeanne Dielman, 23, Quai du Commerce 1080 Bruxelles . Looked it up and I now have less than zero interest to watch it. How did we go from Vertigo to that? At least Vertigo is still #2. Nice to see Singin’ in the Rain in the Top 10 as well! It shouldn’t be against the rules for the greatest films of all time to also be, you know, entertaining?

It didn't piss me off, I like the film. I just disagree with the ranking.

The directors' list is definitely the better one.

You didn’t put it on your list, but your list doesn’t hold more weight than the majority. Enough people must have watched it during the pandemic after pretending to have seen it and saw the brilliance. But I get it, it doesn’t sound like it’s to your taste. Which isn’t my fault that your taste stinks!

[Show spoiler]I hope this comes off as more facetious and not attacky

There Will Be Blood deserved to top both lists and this only confirms people have no taste.

I looked up Jeanne Dielman and since I don't suffer from insomnia I don't feel the need to ever watch it.

Vertigo and Citizen Kane have been numbers one a two for decades but then a film from 1975 suddenly becomes better than them? I wonder what happed since then to make it suddenly so great?

I don't need a poll to tell me what I like, and what I don't like.

I agree, I didn't like most of those films before reading the list and now my opinions on them are still the same.

Blade Runner went from 69 in 2012 to 54 now.

Sad that only one Bergman movie made it. I wonder if he's falling out of fashion.

Joker (2019, Philips) - new entry

Persona (1966, Bergman)

Vertigo (1958, Hitchcock)

In the Mood for Love (2000, Wong Kar-wai)

Godfather I & 11 (1972-74, Coppola) - see it as an extended film broken in two parts. In the 2012 poll, its combined votes were like 80, which would have put it in the top 10.

The Secret in Their Eyes (2009, Campanella) - new entry

Seven Samurai (1954, Kurosawa)

Lawrence of Arabia (1962, Lean)

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968, Kubrick)

Singin’ in the Rain (1952, Donen-Kelly)

* They are all good, so any of the above can be #1. Here, I have gone w/ Joker as it is not only an excellent film for its acting, cinematography, and screenplay but also to state that you can have a recently released film as #1!

4 and 5 films from my list above made it to critics and directors top 10 respectively, so that is a positive!

They invite more people to cast votes each decade and some of the voters in the past have likely passed away.

So with that reasoning then there really is a chance that the Dark Knight will be number one in five years.

Not really because they only do these polls every 10 years.
