FYI, if you ever have any issues playing some Region B titles, it's likely because the region of the player itself needs to be changed as well (not just the disc region). This happened with my German TV miniseries release of
Das Boot and was one reason I switched to a dedicated region-free player for a while. Problem is that NTSC PS3's apparently can't handle 50i content. You can fix this by upgrading to a developer firmware which will give you the option to change player region (Europe is recommended) in addition to disc region. Process is as painless as the basic CFW install. Can send you links to instructions and Youtube video if you're interested.
