Indie developers, unless they are charging more for games, will have a smaller audience at first than the PSVR1 audience, which was up to 5 million.
I've seen games on PSVR's PSN store that only have a few ratings, compared to other PSVR games that have thousands of ratings, suggesting some games rarely are bought or reviewed.
6 million headset sales for PSVR mate.

I think indie studios will continue to carry the VR load for a long time with the occasional VR port of a major studio game and even more rare AAA VR-exclusives.
As already suggested by Zivouhr, I think they will develop AAA games that can be played flat or in VR. It worked great for RE. It’s not my preferred method, but I can see it working.

Thanks. That's a good amount overall.

Were you able to get the Quest 2 by chance over the months? If so, how do you like it so far?

As far as PSVR2, you are a major fan of PSVR1, so to not be jumping on board yet with PSVR2 shows that Sony has more work to do for convincing its major VR fans who are still waiting on the fence to see how this all unfolds.

Horizon VR will be cool no doubt, but to not secure some bigger games is disappointing, along with no news of a new Astrobot VR game.

RE fans will be happy with RE8 and RE4 VR.

I was hoping Fallout 4 VR would be ported up to PSVR2, but not even news of that.

The price being high and the lack of major must have games is my biggest reason to hold off for awhile.

I'm definitely interested in hearing how fans who invested in PSVR2 like the whole VR set up. It'll be much smoother than PSVR1 I bet.

Man, I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos with special previews from the London Sony office and I'm getting pretty psyched for this release in February. I am really glad I pre-ordered and can't wait to get hands on this. It seems like my wishlist is right up there with everyone else's.

But I do agree that we need some more game announcements. I am not a big fan of indie games. I need AAA game. Call of the Mountain is going to be pretty killer, but I will be really disappointed if HL Alyx doesn't make its way to the PSVR2.

Yes to some AAA developers announcing games by some chance. That would really help this VR system.

Sony should say, "Here are the games we hope will have new versions of for PSVR2" and if they are charging again for the same games from PSVR1, ported up, which is most likely the case since the developers have to go back in and change the graphics, resolution, controls and more, with testing.

Alyx should be secured for PSVR2 too. C'mon Sony!

My guess is that they don't want to give Horizon competition. I bet they release the hardware and have another AAA title ready to announce by mid March.

That would be good, yes. Hopefully lots of announcement surprises although earlier is better. I wonder why Alyx hasn't been announced yet for PSVR2? Is Sony working on getting it ported over? That game is said to be a good test of VR.

I decided against it. Like you say, I’m playing the waiting game, despite my love for the tech.

I really want games made from the ground up for VR, if they go the other route I will be discouraged. I have always felt to truly take advantage of VR, you need to design a game that can ONLY be played in VR. If they don’t cater to that, it tells me they simply don’t have the faith in the tech going forward and this is a last attempt from them.

Good point. I think you're right about games being made specifically for VR being the best.

Astrobot Missions VR for example, makes VR tons of fun. What a game. I cannot say enough good things about that game in VR.

Got an invite this morning as well, the link is good until Feb so I guess production is strong (or demand is low ). I was actually hoping the invite wouldn't arrive until January, my employer gives us an annual "wellbeing" allowance and I was going to use it for a VR headset.

I've been considering a SteamVR, but I have more trust in Sony to make a quality and comfortable home entertainment device vs HP/HTC/Valve. Hopefully the community comes up with a way to use PSVR2 on PC.

Moss and Moss 2 announced as coming on launch. It seems these titles are well regarded indies and $34.99 for the bundle. Cue PSVR1 owners lamenting having to pay for the reworked for PSVR2 versions.

It's why I didn't buy Moss 2 on PSVR. Just decided to wait for the inevitable PSVR2 version.

"Eye tracking: Interactive objects now emit a subtle glow when looked at. This allows players to quickly spot interactive objects during puzzles and throughout the game. Eye tracking also informs Quill where players are looking so she can offer hints if she figures something out before them."

So cool to see that they are tacking advantage of the eye tracking technology. I'm hoping that developers will use this as part of the weapon wheel instead of having to hold down a button, look for the weapon of choice and then use the joystick to select it. Just look at it and go.

Cool to hear Moss will be ready at launch in Feb 2023. I totally understand why they're charging $40 for the pair of games, & that these games are not 123 ports, but require a lot of adjustments and testing since it's all new equipment and visual resolution/graphics. PS4 to PS5 too.
Moss 1 is fun.
Moss 2 feels more like a chore at this point. The puzzles with the alternate new character are not as intuitively designed and I've been stumped a few times now, stifling some of the sense of adventure. I'll try to get back to it soon, as it looks great.

I finally got an e-mail from Sony allowing me to order it. I pre-ordered it right away along with a controller charging station. I didn't get the Horizon version because it said it was a download code and I want it in physical (which will hopefully be an option). Excited for this but glad it's still a few months off because I have too much backlogged right now lol. But at least I don't have to hunt down random drops of stock on amazon or BB or something. I've got it coming release day confirmed! haha

It would add to the immersion big style. There are a small amount of games where you can select things by moving your head. What you posted is way more exciting.
