![]() ![]() Just finished watching Little Ghostly Adventures of Tofu Boy. The disc is not English friendly though I could follow along for most of it. Seemed a little slow in the middle, probably because I couldn't understand the dialogue, but I enjoyed it overall. There are spirit creatures in the beginning of the movie that reminded me a bit of Spirited Away and most of the movie is focused on one spirit traveling around modern day Tokyo. The human characters looked very rough, like something from an early 2000s video game, but the spirit creatures were all fun and had better animation. In terms of the 3D it was a very serviceable presentation though I feel like it was being held back. There were a few scenes with characters reaching out towards the screen in different ways without any actual popouts. Some of the scenes had very nice layers. If they had pushed the 3D stereo a bit more this could have been a great presentation, but it was mostly mild to medium throughout. I'd give it a 2.5/5 compared with other Asian movies BleedOrange scored on the first page of this thread. The 3D is definitely there and the movie benefits from it, but there is nothing outstanding. |
