Although I haven't really visited much in the last so many years, I've always liked AnandTech. I just took a peek and it still looks pretty active.
But there are still a few here that know enough to answer most questions. |

My questions are..... 1. Anyone know of a better pre-built for around the money of the corsair Vengeance i7400 right now? Not interested in building myself. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Catego.../CS-9050047-NA 2. I'll be hooking this PC up to my HT projector and preamp. I assume I can run video out of the HDMI 2.1 and then use one of the display ports for lossless audio to my preamp if I get a display port to HDMI adapter? 3. Is it possible to set either a 60fps or 120fps cap for all games? My projector is 120hz capable so games where I can hit 120fps or more I'd like to use a 120fps cap, but games where I can't hit 120fps consistently with max settings and 4k res I'd like to set a 60fps cap. Is this possible on PC? Probably a few other questions I'm forgetting right now, but I'll ask those if they pop up. |

Otherwise if you'll be running HDMI directly to the projector for video, then DisplayPort-->HDMI to your processor for audio, that should be fine. I'm doing something similar now. Although you may run into some timing issues and may need to adjust lipsync in your processor settings. Quote:
Edit: I just looked it up, and my graphics card (Nvidia) has a global "Max Frame Rate" option to set the max FPS. It's basically a slider bar with a range from 20 FPS to 1000 FPS, although I'm not sure if that will vary by model. But regardless, that should get you what you need with any modern GPU. At least with Nvidia anyway. Not sure about AMD/ATi, but I don't see why they wouldn't have that if Nvidia has it. Last edited by red_5ive; 12-16-2022 at 06:02 PM. |

I should have been more clear, but I meant HDMI out of the PC directly to the projector for video and display port to preamp for audio. Sounds like this should work great. Very cool about the global max frame rate! I'm going with an Nvidia 4090 so I am happy to see this option available. |
