I think they will be. That's what happened with the Transporter Trilogy - so I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon.de uses the same strategy with this release.

The only problem with the slip cover is that it hides potential dings and dents.

Trying to find out if you got a mint TDK / BB steelbook is near impossible.
+1 to that my friend.

I am so tempted to open my BB/TDK just to see if it is dent and ding free.

Nope, not a one (Well except for a couple of the Canadian ones that I opened before I was collecting)

There are others on here as well that do not open, and there are some that do. It is a personal choice for my collection

Trust me, some nights it is very difficult not to. I try to make sure I have the amaray version so at least I can watch the movie, but I know in the end I would hate myself if I opened them

that would be very fine

That is part of the temptation. Get rid of the plastic and the stickers so I am left with only the artwork

Yeah, that was the hope with the German Gran Torino release, but according to the recently posted pics, there is no slipcover and the ratings logo is printed right on the steelbook.

Why did you bought the trilogy?
I had the first two and bought the third only!
I try not to double dip amaray.

I bought it as I prefer box sets to single amaray. Got a good deal on amazon.ca and free shipping and I will offload the other two titles and come out about even in terms of what it would cost to pick up just the third, give or take a few bucks.

cheers

Yeah, your right Kynch. It certainly does have the metallic texture of a steelbook on the top and no hint of that translucent plastic look of standard cases. Still, a peek at that spine would seal it for me.

I've seen the Underworld movies but I'm not familiar with the blu-ray releases. Are they single disc titles? or more? If its more than 3 blu-rays could that SB hold 'em?

I believe each movie was released with a single disc.

Seeing as this is a SONY release, I'd say that if it were to be in a metal casing, it'd be a SteelBook, judging by their previous releases in Germany (such as Hancock, Da Vinci Code or Terminator 3).

Well, at least in the U.S. Rise of the Lycans was released with a digital copy and the extra disc so that would mean a release without a digital copy for the third movie it indeed Scanavo doesn't make 4-disc BD steelbooks. They didn't seem to have a problem leaving the DC out of the Transporter trilogy steel so I guess that wouldn't be a problem here...although the studios are different, but Sony doesn't seem too attached to the idea of giving digital copies with their releases.

I'd probably be in for this. Was planning on watching the first two soon since I picked up the third and haven't watched it yet. Selling the trilogy should be $30...$30 towards the steel trilogy hopefully.

Damn it, I just opened my Underworld Trilogy two weeks ago, and now I got to buy the Steelie!

I think I'm just going to slow down on buying Blu-rays and wait a few weeks and see if they get released as Steelbooks, my wallet can't take this double and sometime triple dipping on Blus, but I'm still buying it if it turns out to be a Steelbook. Man I have a problem!

Its a Steelbook !

A user from bluray-disc.de asked Sony and they confirm that underworld trilogy will be released in a Steelbook

On the Steelbook isn't the rating logo, only on the slipcover

Underworld 1 is the extended version, underworld 2+3 are the theatrical version
