I look at as his attitude in 3 and 4 sort of what happens during fame. He starts getting away from who he originally was. The Rocky of old wouldn't buy talking robots or buy into the more showy and materialistic side that comes with big famous. Rocky V and Balboa is a Rocky that has comeback down to earth.

It's not just a personality shift. It's an intelligence. Unless Rocky went to college and somehow shifted mentally into a solid B/B+ student, it wouldn't explain who he was in 3/4.

Rocky did seem like a different character but my brain just compensated that he was a changed man due to fame and was hanging around a new crowd.

Realistically though, he played it the best in part 2 where he was low educated and just was kinda going along with everything. I think Stallone wanted to turn Rocky into an action star with 3 and 4 which may have been the right decision. I don't know if you could have had a dumb Rocky in 3 and 4 and it really work.

I dunno I've seen dumb people get wiser with age, just took them longer than someone with brains.

Not sure whether to buy them individually or wait for the inevitable 6 film collection

I just assumed Rocky educated himself now that he had the fame and fortune to do so. He even admits to plastic surgery. He is a different character in Part 3 - that's pretty much the point. The regression in Part 5 you could put down to the brain damage.

Wow, glad I got in at the $59.99 price. Up to $67.99 at Amazon. For those who missed out on the cheaper price, Bullmoose is now the better option because they package better and don’t charge sales tax.

I'm getting the individuals and will just add the other two when they come out. Though you can bet your ass that the cover designs for V and Balboa will be styled completely differently from the other four

They'll release alongside new individuals for I-IV that do have matching styles though.

I’m shamelessly grabbing the box set now (and selling the digital code afterward for a further discount), then selling the box down the road and getting either the individuals (if they have original poster art versions) or a more complete box down the road. Win / win.

I'm waiting. If I can't get the original six in a box set then it's not a proper set. I'll take a six movie set, but I'd still prefer individuals.

The Rocky steelbooks have gone live on Zavvi, I'm not sure if there is a difference between them and the Best Buy ones.

I don’t care about the packaging. All I want is the film on 4K Ultra HD triple layer 100 GB disc itself. I store all my discs bare on mobiles hanging from my ceiling around my apartment to save space. I then recycle all the cases and inserts because I’m a better person than all of you.

I preordered so I had that price locked in. I can make a choice one way or the other by shipping date. I have the digital 4k of the first, the digital of the Drago Cut and that 40th anniversary set of the blu collection. So I'm under not rush.

I don't know... he was pretty frivolous with the fight winnings after his first fight with Apollo ; he even bought a Trans-Am without being able to drive it! I wonder what happened to that... Paulie probably drove it into the local off-licence.
