ESPN's David Pollack who is a former Georgia player was live on set said that Georgia has taken over college football. Sitting next to Pollack when he said that was Alabama coach Nick Saban.

What does it take to beat Nick Saban? Evidently, a creation of Nick Saban. That's what Dabo Swinney and Kirby Smart are. Since 2009, Saban, Swinney, and Smart have accounted for 10 of 14 national titles, and 7 of the last 8.

Even when Georgia tries their best to let up on TCU by pulling all their starters, their backups keep piling on points.

Stetson Bennett looks like he could be the next Drew Brees. About the same height and physical build as Drew.

After tonight I can't tell if they playoff desperately needs to expand to 12 or if that's the worst possible idea. Georgia felt like they were on another planet compared to TCU, but I wonder if Alabama would've at least given them a game.

Take this with a grain of salt as I barely know what I'm talking about when it comes to college football.

Wow, I'd forgotten about how horrific the national title games have been for many years. The last 5 CFP national title games were decided by 55, 15, 28, 17, and 28 points. You have to go all the way back to the 2018 Alabama-Georgia game for a good one.

I'm a little dubious on the idea of a 12 team playoff making things more competitive. Many thought the expansion to 4 teams would create more parity, bringing the SEC down a peg, which didn't happen. The SEC has won 6 of 9 CFP national titles. Most years, the SEC team or teams simply steamroll all non-SEC opponents, with a few exceptions, like Clemson breaking through a few times and Ohio St. winning the first one. We end up getting a lot of huge mismatches, with teams like Michigan, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Michigan St. getting destroyed by SEC teams.

A 12 team format likely results in Alabama and Georgia making it virtually every season, as well as 1 or 2 additional SEC teams making it. And in all likelihood, those top shelf SEC schools will simply wreck those non-SEC teams in most games.

That’s exactly what’s going to happen. The championship will be nothing but SEC schools, OSU, and a random school here and there that has the stars align. There’s no motivation to change the system unless ratings start to tank. Tonight’s game made me realize my team will never have a shot and I don’t see the point in watching anymore.

SEC dominance isn’t going to change with the expansion. Everyone is just going to make more money. The SEC is a very well oiled machine.

I'll be curious to see what happens to the Big 12 and Pac 12 once USC, UCLA, Texas and OU leave. Those two conferences may drop big time or dissolve. Then in the BIG and SEC, middle tier and lower tier teams will never amount to anything.

Wow talk about an embarrassment, though most people already knew that the New years eve game was the actual championship one. Still though this is only going to become more commonplace as now players can be bought at this level.

Told my wife at halftime what the score was and that Georgia would probably call off the Dawgs in the second half, boy was I wrong.

True, and NIL and the transfer portal isn’t helping matters. Still though, “SEC Dominance” has largely been Alabama and now Georgia. LSU one year but outside that, they’re just like any other conference.

It's not much fun when the same teams win year after year after year. It's boring and stale.

The SEC and the other big schools should just form a new division above the FBS. It's either that or the NCAA needs to implement some sort of salary cap so to speak (like limit the number of 4 and 5 star players each team can have). There are way too many FBS teams and only like 5 of them ever have a shot of winning it all. College basketball is somewhat similar, but at least small schools can actually beat a big dog. There's no way the Charlotte 49ers could defeat the Georgia Bulldogs in football. I guess I prefer the level playing field that the NFL has with it's salary cap, but most people would rather a handful of college teams just dominate every year apparently.

When I was watching the TCU/Georgia game I thought to myself that the NCAA should limit how many 4 & 5 star players each team can have. Teams like Georgia, Bama, Ohio St, Michigan, Oklahoma and a few others are stacked with them. Then teams like my IA Hawkeyes only get a few each year and we mainly have 3 star players that have to develope. My boss today said that when UCLA & USC come to the BIG, that Iowa will never when a Big 10 title ever again.

The state of Iowa had a 5 star offensive tackle this past fall out of the Des Moies area. He was the #1 ranked OT in the entire nation and he was verballed to play for Iowa. The day before signing day he decomitted and is now going to Alabama. So fricking frustrating!!

You're going to have a big problem overcoming basic geography. The amount of top-tier high school football talent (and let's be honest here... African American players in particular) is so heavily concentrated in the southeast, it's absurd. My state of Florida alone produces so much talent, schools like UF, FSU, Miami, etc. don't even have to go outside the state all that much to recruit 4/5-star athletes. Hell, even states with relatively low populations like Alabama and Mississippi produce obscene numbers of top-notch high school football players, who excel at the college level. Given how high the reputation of the SEC is in the region, there are simply too many of those guys with NFL aspirations staying close to home and picking SEC schools. If you notice, even most of the non-SEC schools winning national titles in recent decades - Clemson, Miami, FSU, etc. are also located in the southeast. The rare exception is really Ohio St., which happens to be in a non-southern state with a deep amount of high school football talent. The NCAA would have a real hard time trying to cap 5 star recruits, given how powerful the SEC is. If the NCAA tried that, you'd probably have the entire SEC try to ditch the NCAA and form their own division of college football. Even some non-SEC teams would threaten to leave.
