Default Star Trek Discovery Season 4 Blu Ray slip case?

Hello! Just trying to get an answer and the only thread I came across in a search on my question seems to be missing. Was there some error on the Season 4 Discovery Blu-Ray's missing the slip case/cover? The advertising appears to have them and I believe the DVD I saw in store did as well. Both my delivered pre-order doesn't or the in store blu ray so I'm curious.

Maybe not the most important factor but in that I have entire rest of my Trek collection with their slipcovers that in some cases I went out of my way for I'd like to find out!

This has been discussed for a couple days in the BD thread. It seems nobody's getting a slipcover. Whether they dropped it after they made promotional material for it, or if they just had delays and the only option was to ship it without one (which has happened before) has yet to be answered.

Well that is unfortunate... Had shot a message to CBS Home Entertainment as well but not heard back. Like I said I know they aren't "essential" but if HAD to drop them I wish they hadn't done it mid way... Given the DVD has them hopefully it is just something like you suggested and will catch up...

Saw it on the shelf at Barnes and Noble. Shrinkwrapped in plastic case, but no slipcover. Unless I see someone post pics of a slip I'm going to say there isn't one.

So is it likely that if the initial release shipped without it even if production delay etc. they likely won't show up after the fact? I wouldn't think so but I don't know if it's happened before either in those situations. Really unfortunate if not, like I said have all the other series and movies up to this point with their respective slipcases. I know prodigy didn't show one in the ad image I saw and I wondered if being from Nickelodean it might just be distributed differently? Not sure.

A responce I got from CBS Customer Support

"Thank you for reaching out to CBS Store Customer Support. We apologize for any delay in your order. We have reached out to our vendor asking for an update on the slipcover. Upon hearing back from them on Tuesday of next week, we will notify you. Thank you for your patience.

Happy Holidays!"

So I guess we shall see.

IIRC, the situation with Summer Wars was the slipcovers weren't ready so they had to decide to either push it back or send the initial stock without them, and Funimation let people request them and then the 2nd wave had them included with the product. 2020's Call of the Wild didn't have them originally either, but then later they had a small amount found in stores and through DMC... but Onward came out a week later and never received slipcovers.

If it was a situation where the slipcovers weren't in yet and they didn't want to push it back, if they actually have them later then I could see them putting them on the 2nd wave. But if they just choose not to get them on purpose, then there won't be any.

Hey, unfortunately not. Seemed that outside of the store they weren't able to provide any more info. I'm still curious if a second wave ends up releasing with it...Disco S4 was advertised with it but ended up showing up without then Prodigy didn't show one in the ads I saw but did have one. I wondered if they had just dropped it but maybe not.
