Default Onkyo 606 and DMP-BD60

Hi,

Asking question on behalf of brother-in-law. He bought a DMP-BD60, and has an onkyo 606.

He has it setup exactly like mine (60 and Onkyo 605), but his only displays PCM, it never switches to DTS HD MA or True HD.

any ideas? his Sound setup on the player is the exact same as mine, but mine clicks over to the correct sound/display.

thanks!

tell him to go into the setup menu of the BDP, under audio go to audio output, should be the second option and set the DTS HD and DDTHD to bitstream. It seems that he has his set to PCM. turn the secondary audio output at the bottom of the screen to OFF, then make sure the receiver is set to pure direct, should clear up the issue.

PCM is the same thing, so the fact that he is getting it is OK, he is still getting HD audio.

Hi,

his audio is setup that way on the player, but it still comes up as PCM on the amp.

PCM would only be the same if it said PCM MULTICHANNEL, but in this case it only says PCM

does the display show just the front right and left speakers active only or does it show all the speakers active? If they are all active and discrete then it is in Multichannel PCM, otherwise it is in 2 channel PCM. If in 2 channel PCM then you need to consult the owners manual for troubleshooting.

Hi

It turns out its actually a fault. We took it into the store where he got it today, and used their Blu-Ray player, and it did the same thing. But when we plugged in a different 606, the DTS HD MA showed up.

We went through all the setup options on the amp, and both were identical.

So its being sent away to be fixed.
