Do we know for a fact that the Extended Cut of 1 isn’t included in this?? And I mean the 152 min cut not the 3 hour cut.

If this is going to make that April 18th street date, it's going to need to be announced very soon.

Ya true, I find it hard to believe that there gonna release II the Richard Donner Cut and not I the Special Edition/Extended Cut. But it is Warner Bros., there leaving out Returns of the Set and not releasing it Individually. So who knows'.

I prefer the Theatrical Cut to the Donner Cut of Superman II. I haven't watched the Donner Cut since it first came out. Not sure if I'd even revisit it.

I'd love to see Superman: The Movie on the big screen in the uK - it's on my bucket list.
I remember seeing Superman Returns in 2006 in the cinema and hearing the John Williams music. Nostalgia hit me hard and it was emotional. Same happened (although to a slightly lesser extent) when I saw Terminator 3 and heard the opening music. On reflection, you can picks holes in these two films but great memories. I certainly didn't feel that way again with the following Terminator films - I didn't bother watching Dark Fate at the cinema. Each reboot (leading to a supposed trilogy that never happened) just sapped my energy. I remember coming out of the cinema after seeing Man of Steel. The Krypton scenes and fate of Krypton really hit home. After that, it was like my senses were being assaulted. The Smallville battle - it was like one explosion after another trying to beat the last. Some great scenes in Man of Steel and music but it went a little overboard at times - maybe a direct response to Superman Returns doing not very much in terms of action. Had a good score too. I think my favourite Man of Steel scene next to the learning to fly scene still remains the end when Superman faces Zod, flies off the ground horizontally and says ![]() |

Although the one scene I did miss from the Donner Cut was when Superman says "General, would you care to step outside?". |

The rehashed turn-back-time ending is just lame.

Nah. It's lame. Time travel to undo actions in films are generally easy outs to fix things from a franchise point of view instead of letting consequences be felt and lessons learned.
Just because it was planned (it was always planned to be used at least once across the two films, of course), doesn't make it a good plan. |

It goes to show how powerful he is. If Lois and all those people died, that wouldn't be much of a good ending.

How about...don't have Lois suddenly appear in the middle of the desert right on the fault line at all? What is her beat at the Daily Planet anyway? Why is the Daily Planet covering land purchases in the southwest at all when the AP could cover it or a local newspaper?

EDIT: Also, this was referenced in the first comic. Not Lois dying, but her being in danger. |

Anonymous land sales in the Southwest? Hell, it doesn't even come up until about 2/3 of the way through the movie. Why is this a Daily Planet story? There's thousands of miles between the two locations. Why is this Lois' story? Earlier in the film, she's doing stories about crime in the city. Maybe...Superman the Movie is kind of poorly written? |
