And yes, this example is honestly how I feel.
Yeah I liked it, and I even read and liked the Jason Aaron Tun it took inspiration from!

Not sure how unpopular this is but Stephen King's Sleepwalkers is a film that's begging to be remade.

The first half is pretty good with the atmosphere and story and then...........it loses it (COP-KEBOB!!!).

King was really cooking something here, just wish someone could bring it to it's full potential.

Also this Enya song really deserves a better movie haha:

I disagree i think it's a sequel that surpasses the first movie and moves at a better pace, better visuals and all.

Ocpcommunications, Ramboraph4life, Oliverharper etc. are better than most youtube critics because i love their passion for movies and genuine honest reviews and rants on youtube.

Do you still go to comic shops on Wednesdays? Most people are under 50.

Any comic book shop I go into, comics is barely half of what they sell. And the kids are rarely looking at the comics. Same goes for me though.

Obviously not. I purchased all my comics at a news stand or a dime store. It's a little sad they still exist.

The market seriously shrunk after the crash. As an indie creator crowdfunding is a lifeline. Going to be at a retailer summit to discuss this kind of stuff tomorrow.

I think the monthly "floppies" which used to be almost the only way to get comics when I was a kid in the 70s-80s are an almost strictly adult thing nowadays. None of the kids my kids hang around with collect them -- they're bad value for money (too expensive for the tiny content -- are they still only 32 pages each?) when every bookstore and comic shop/toy store has row upon row of trade paperback collections that are often a fraction of what you would have otherwise paid for the individual issues in toto (and take up less space). But then, they also seem to be almost exclusively into Manga, so there's that, too.

My own comic collecting obsession fell off to zero when I left middle school. But, then, at that time (mid-late 80s) comics were still seen as "kid's stuff" and anyone who had any thought of one day getting laid knew better than to wear THAT scarlet letter.

American comics ain't what they use to be. That's why Japanese manga is dominating and should be the next go to for Hollywood.

A director's cut can make a good movie better. However, I have never seen a director's cut take a bad movie and make it good.

Brazil.

The studio cut is a shell of the true version, the director's cut.

I have no interest in that movie, so I'll have to take your word for it.

Director's Cut is certainly better, but the theatrical version isn't a bad movie. It was interesting enough to make me want to see the Director's Cut.

...huh. For some reason my gut said this was wrong, but I can't think of a solid contrary example. The three closest I could think of:
  • Batman V. Superman: Bumped a 5/10 movie to a 6-7/10
  • The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies: 5/10 -> 6/10. The theatrical had some truly head-scratching cuts. Like what the heck happened to
[Show spoiler]the Arkenstone? You know, the thing everyone was fighting over?
The extended still wasn't great and added some unnecessary things but at least it gave better closure.
  • Justice League: 2/10 -> 6/10, turned an all-time awful movie into an OK movie. I wouldn't really count it as a true director's cut though given the director replacement and reshoots for both cuts, they're more like distinct movies.

While I haven't seen/don't want to see your 1st and 3rd picks, the 2nd one is a perfect example of what I mean. The original version of BOTFA is not great, but it's decent. The longer cut is better.

I haven't seen a single BAD movie that was redeemed by a Director's Cut.
