Something like that. That would be sweet too!

All of this bickering and nobody (myself included) seems to have remembered that physical media will be dead in the next 6 weeks anyways since downloads are the way of the future! No cases will be needed after this imminent market transition.

I like the standard cases period. I like everything to be uniform. I don't mind something like the Bourne Trilogy where the box includes each movie in its own BD case, so that I can remove all the movies out of the box and then put the box away in my closet, but I don't like items like the Dirty Harry boxset or the Bond boxsets because they don't have their own BD cases and when placing something like these in your shelf it takes up the room of say 5 BluRays.

I think the companies should release the BD case version of every movie first and then add the DigiBook/Steel editions as companions at the same time so that we can choose our preferred version.

I am happy to see in the latest news here that Amadeus and Casablanca are being released in standard BD cases. I hope Dirty Harry follows and the remaining Dirty Harry series is released in their break out standard BD cases.

I don't mind digi's...they're only a little bigger than a regular case and don't stand out too bad. They're a perfect fit next to John Adams and Generation Kill. I think BOB is the only one that really stands out.

No I will make cases to have nothing in, just so I can show off my collection...

Oh and they will all be uniform!

If the price is right, then I'll buy a digibook or whatever type of crap they come up with.

For me it's mostly about the difference in height. If that was the same as standard blu-cases then I probably wouldn't mind, but as it is now, they will stand out like a sore thumb while every other type of case fits in there nicely.
Also, I don't like the disc holders and the fact that the disc will deteriorate faster because of the very nature of the digibook-cases.

I have never purchased a Digibook, but if a movie (like 300) is released with one that I am interested in, the case will not hold me back. In fact, I like the diversity in the types and sizes of cases in my collection. It gives it a more interesting look and some movies are easier to find because of teir unique case. The type of case will never keep me from purchasing a movie, unless, of course, the case can damage the disc. Or maybe, those who dislike having different cases mixed together could put them in a different section all together.

the passion in this arguement always amazes me--

I have a lot of movies in my collection (another 1500+ on dvd). I have
a huge wall with 6 stands that hold "regular size" blus and dvds.

I have some seperate shelves I mounted in my office that display "special
size" discs like boxed sets, tv series, digi-books, etc.

What is the big friggin' deal????? I think it's actually cool to have a seperate
section for "special releases"

This thread reminds me of the late 80's early 90's when some CD's came in those horrid tall cases...WTF was that all about?

in my opinion society advanced a great deal when the music companies dropped those

As some others have pointed out, digibooks don't necessarily fit on shelving designed specifically for standard Blu-ray cases. If they were the same height and width as Blu-ray cases, I wouldn't have a problem with them. But they aren't, so I do.

It is one thing to say that a Digibook is bad because it won't fit on your shelf. That is understandable. But it is completely ridiculous and lazy to say that Digibooks are not good because they stand out in your collection.

Some of you might be appalled to know that I throw mine out before I even get to my car.....
Yet, some people are compiling "slip cover list" threads out there.

To those who are upset by my case whining, know this. My King Arthur's case's plastic is torn so much in the front the case is pretty much worthles.

Personally, I am a fan of anything that is extra to the standard case and disc inside. Slipcovers are simply a sort of fetish to me and I have no reason why I am so interested in them. It is understandable that a Digibook could get annoying, but what did a poor slipcover ever do to anyone to hurt them?

None too fussed what kind of case they come in. Can understand the differing points of view, but anything will do for me far as cases are concerned.
